This is a series of 28 very-easy-to-find micros, many hidden along the sea wall in Tollesbury Wick Marshes - surely one of the most peaceful and muggle-free locations in the UK.

The whole walk has a good terrain but is 8.2 miles long so this only suitable for able walkers. Allocate 3 to 4 hours for the walk and a refreshment break. Take a camera for the stunning views. If it is a hot day protect yourself from the sun with cream and a hat - there is no shade on this route.

The emphasis is on the scenic views and exercise since the caches are in obvious locations with a generous description.

Park in Tollesbury village square (N 51° 45.497' E 0° 49.974'); there is usually plenty of room. To get you in the mood you could tackle Church Micro 525 St Marys, Tollesbury before you depart.

There is a a pub on the square: the King's Head and a convenience store: McColl's; but I would highly recommend a backpack and picnic to make this a morning/afternoon out - but take your litter home.

History

This cache series was originally launched on August 7, 2009 and added to over the next two years.

On December 12, 2011 the cache names were changed to reflect the incorporation of this trail as section 3 of the Essex 100 series and all the nanos changed to micros.

On April 4, 2015 old caches renumbered; new caches added.
