Not one to attempt on your phone... was much more successful on laptop!
This was doubly important today as part of my drive to reduce the Solved but not found pile and because it's a D/T I was missing.
Just as well i was so determined as we turned back from one route as they didn't seem to like nonmembers and then with a dodgy structure set to fall down i had to detour and chose the wrong path. Several icy muddy moments later and rapidly heading a way from gz I spotted some dog walkers where i wanted to be. Eventually on the right path, it led me straight there for a quick find.
Tftcap, a Happy New Year and a fave ?

When it's possible to be on the wrong side we will be. However soon athletically righted this for another find. TFTC

Not major but something seems to be eating the bag

Artist sat with his back to this cache (about 10 metres away) painting a landscape but still managed to retrieve it without him knowing I was there!

Didn't find this either, but we were getting cold by now, so may have been us (wind was bitter)

Found quickly as we now head back to the car, mainly because it was in the water!
Log was dry thanks to the bag, so signed it, dried the rest of the container & replaced in what felt like the most likely original hiding place & covered with twigs & leaves

There appears to have been a lot of work done recently in this area. New fence posts, recently bulldozed earth, etc. Poss not there/moved?

Em dia de ir ao 1º Algarve Meeting de 2015 nada melhor que abalar mais cedo de casa e ir fazer umas caixinhas pelo caminho. Esta cache fica numa zona totalmente desconhecida, a fonte e o pequeno altar que lá estavam eram muito bonitos e se não fosse o geocaching acho que não conheceria estes pequenos recantos do nosso país.

My caching partners Deebooted & ATM supplied the original container for this cache so were pleased to at last solve the puzzle.
The theme was suggested by Deebooted a long time ago, but the numbers just wouldn't come.
A lightbulb moment finally showed us the way. Easy find at GZ.

Very clever little puzzle.

Anagram solved so long ago now I can't remember which one of us clinched it. I immediately came up with an idea but just couldn't make it work. We all gave up and moved on. going over things again StratOman approached from the other angle and sussed it at last. TFTC but sadly we haven't found a replacement cache container for you yet!

This one has been on the pile for an eggstensive period of time.
I eggspect I was making it too complicated, as usual.
A complete change of approach finally lead to some eggcellent results.
Still some eggtra work to be done, but a bit of research and out popped the numbers.
No problem finding the cache as the coords were eggact.

After not finding the eggact way forward with this one we retreated into our shells and let the other member of our team lay his cards on the table. Armed with better knowledge of such things he managed to come up with a GZ nest for the cache.
What else can I add to what our caching friend StratOman has said. Only that he is a good egg

Deebooted had sent me some information which should have resulted in a quick solution.

However, one small problem remained that none of us could overcome.
Always pays to think out of the box with Mr Crow's puzzle and once we did, we soon had a green light on the checker.

A very long muddy walk to the cache yesterday, and another unplanned puzzle to actually get the cache.
ATM armed with a walking stick eventually had the cache in hand.

Well done to Deebooted & ATM for their well earned 3,000th cache.

Found something right from the start that nearly worked! We all knew what had to be done here but couldn't quite make it work. It seemed impossible to get it right. Then StratOman had a light bulb moment and it was so simple but gave a correct result! Should have know there would be a twist in the knights armour. TFTC a favourite for being enjoyable but frustrating but one we could understand! A good one for 3000th.

Very well crafted puzzle with lots of clever clues on the cache page.
Took a long time to get going on this one until the correct source material was found.
Even when I thought I had the numbers there was yet another twist.

At GZ the cache was found on the ground so ATM replaced it in the correct place.

Got this one off to a flying start and then things gradually dwindled for a while. Finally sorted the twists and turns out and a GZ was found. Long muddy walk to GZ more like a swim in places! TFTC

Wonderful puzzle which revels some fascinating facts about numbers. Brilliant.
I enjoyed every minutes of working my way through these little teasers.
Only one stumped me for a short while until I understood the question
TFTC and definite favourite ( I would give two if I could )

Secondary school education and the Maths teacher left when she got pregnant! Did my O level in my 40's but nothing more than that. ATM says he has schoolboy Maths and that was a while ago! Enter into our lives StratOman a retired Stats man who made this possible. He talked me through some of it but without himall would have lost! I'll have to stick to what I know and bring the team that skill but this wasn't it. TFTC and thanks StratOman, you're a star and when you want to read a map I'll never get you lost for long!

Starting this puzzle was straightforward, but then I hit a brick wall.
During Xmas I had a good idea of what the puzzle was about and set about doing the next part, but neither I nor my caching partners Deebooted & ATM could make any further progress

We had a visit to Crowland planned for today with five solved caches, so I revisited the puzzle.
After trying many possibilities the penny finally dropped.
A quick look on Google Earth and I was certain it was correct.
Flushed with success I put the numbers in the checker but alas no green light

Deebooted & ATM agreed with my logic so we added it to our list.
Today we went to GZ and had the cache in hand immediately.

A minuscule adjustment to the coords resulted in a green light from the checker.

Where to start. Hmmm. Over to StratOman to get this one off the starting block again. His skills after years in computing are valuable to say the least with RR puzzles! Then I spotted one important bit and then it was "What can it all mean" from all of us. StratOman thought he was on to it a few days ago but bombarded me with info yesterday when I was just too busy. So with what I have taught him over the months and a keen eye he set about finding a GZ. Checker said no. I had a go with a minor adjustment and Checker still said no! But we all agreed that had to be where it was! It couldn't be anywhere else as it all fitted perfectly. At GZ, after retrieving the cache pot, I stood and marked a WP, put it in the Checker and Checker said no! ATM's basic GPS finally got it right. Your intolerance is disappointing here Mr Crow. TFTC

Some bum stinging stinger's here! Don't ware yr shorts! stung on both hands, and they are still throbbing 7 hours later! Middle of winter, and you still have stingers!.

Wrong day for cacheing today, raining, dark, n windy, Doh! could be the prune supprise the tractor girl made me last night! think the supprise is just getting through!
But its great to be out in the fields whatever the weather! I think! gavered 2 TBs here.

I have had a lovely 24 hours trying to solve this...
The first hour was alone and then I received a message from the Sw0rd. If I hadn't already been looking at this puzzle it would have been a strange message indeed. But I knew exactly what she meant and quickly sent an answer back.
And so began a lovely puzzle solving session.
Answers went back and forth and finally this evening the checker said yes!

I felt fairly sure that this would have been found already but the Sw0rd was up for going to have a look...
We headed to GZ in a very posh cachemobile!
The Sw0rd had the read the cache page and was very prepared...I was worried...I was still in my work clothes

I liked GZ and we began searching...

It took us a little while to spot and then suddenly we saw it!

I cautiously opened it...it looked very neat...but I was sure I would see at least two names on the log...no, it was blank!
What a lovely surprise!

Picked this one up while walking the Jubilee Dozen loop. I couldn't get to GZ without getting my walking boots soaking wet, but the Chaser could jump further than me so he went off on his own and I project managed from the other side. He did a grand job and found the cache, leaving a flamingo cocktail stick and a squidgy putty character. Then he had to jump back over, not so much crows feet as damp ones. TFTCx

The little ford was too deep for the Flurrier so I forged on whilst she attempted to project manage me from the opposite side of the ditch!

Just the one quick find today - wind and rain lead me to make a hasty retreat to the car !! TFTC SL

Stopped by to test out Chrip functionality on my new phone and dropped two TBs.

Very windy and cold search. But a good spot.

A bit damp so dried it out ????

Whilst studying the geocaching map close to home I noticed this puzzle which I thought I had a chance of solving. All of my children have bowled at some point in their teenage years and the eldest is actually quite good at it. I knew what needed to be done and, after a chat with the CO at Mel’s Belated Birthday Event, I was sure I was on the right tract. However the checker said ‘no’. Not sure where I had gone wrong I sent a quick email to the CO and realised there was more than one way to arrive at the coordinates I needed. With that additional knowledge the puzzle was soon solved.

I needed to go to Tiptree today and so decided to stop for the cache on the way. It took me much longer than it should have done at GZ. I’d been looking at nearby hides before going out and had thought that the hint for another cache belonged to this one. I wondered why I couldn’t initially find it in any of the places I looked! Got there in the end.

Thanks for setting the puzzle. Have a favourite point.

Started this one a few days ago. The puzzle began well and I was making good progress but then I hit a couple of stumbling blocks and had to resort to a nudge in the right direction from Mr Crow. Each time I got stuck I had to start from the beginning and I feel as though I know this map very well now! It was a great feeling to get to the end and have the coordinates for the cache revealed. Pleased to see that it was reasonably close to home.

Set off today to turn the question mark into a smiley face. As mentioned in the description the area is very wet and boggy at the moment but I navigated through that and soon arrived at GZ. Pleased to find I was in the right place.

Thanks for an interesting puzzle. I did enjoy it, honestly! Have a favourite point.

Having found Rebecca 1 it seemed only right to go and collect this one at well. The desk top version of the puzzle was, and still is, a mystery to me and so I decided to find the sculpture on the Heath instead. Located that much quicker that I expected and took the required reading. Did the necessary maths and came up with a promising set of coordinates. Passed a few dog walkers and navigated through some very muddy parts along the way to GZ.

I hadn't managed to work out the location anagram but I had come up with a few likely words. Arrived at GZ and could see one of the words on my list which indicated that I was probably in the right place. After a short rummage I had the cache in my hand. Log signed.

3/18. Although this one was out of sequence, it was close enough to tempt me off course briefly to add to my tally. Very muddy at GZ but the hint was helpful and I have found caches in this kind of hide before, so went straight to it. A huge van was parked right by the cache with its doors wide open, no one around and loads of tools inside. Lucky I'm an honest fella, as anyone could have helped themselves! TFTC #1383

4/18. Tight stretch of road here so had to stay on the verges. GPSr had me looking in the wrong places at first, but then I remembered that Crow caches often contain a hint in the cache name and this led me to a much more likely 'spot'! Loved the container, SL and replaced as found. TFTC #1384

2/18. Really tricky to get to this as the ditch was carrying a fair bit of water. Used some branches as a 'bridge' but still nearly got snared in the barbed wire. Once I got my balance and my bearings, it was a simple enough find. TFTC #1382

1/18. Found a good parking spot next to this one so left the geomobile, greeted a friendly horseriding muggle then headed over to make the grab. Cache was a Crow classic, but was careful to protect the container with some debris as a makeshift 'lid', as advised. TFTC #1381

My only DNF of the day. I hate hunting in ivy and with boggy ground underfoot, it was even less appealing than usual. The hedges have also recently been cut back, so it is possible that the cache has been dislodged or lost, but it could just be my ineptitude.

13/18. Had a little bit of trouble here as I missed the footpath entrance and ended up straddling the gate and getting into the ponies' field before I realised I must be going wrong. Soon retraced my steps and took the right track, which was very muddy, down to GZ. Hint was helpful here as GPSr had me about 6m out, but nothing there matched the clue. Once in the right place, it was a quick find, and worth a fav point for the adorable, inquisitive ponies (photo added). TFTC #1393

Skirted round the back of some houses with interesting gardens, especially the one with all the steam railway signals and even its own signal box (see photo)! Wondered where I was going, but once at GZ, it was a swift find of a well-concealed yet chunky cache. TFTC #1392

11/18. GPSr took me away from the most likely hide at first, but I kept coming back, thanks to the cache name. Still couldn't spot the cache though, until I got a bit dirtier and then it revealed itself. What a fine specimen this is ... and no bees around at this time of year, thankfully! TFTC #1391

Worked out a simple loop, yielding 18 caches in total with a couple of drivebys on the way home. Conditions were perfect for winter caching - dry, brisk, bright spells and very little breeze - making for a very pleasant morning.

15/18. Having completed my little walking circuit, I was able to park 80m along the road from this one and grab it as a driveby. Even before I got to GZ, I had worked out what the hide might be from the hint, and so it proved. Grabbed signed and replaced between passing cars. TFTC #1395

Decided I needed a caching walk to get a bit of January exercise, so where better to head than Mr Crow country, where caches are plentiful and always well maintained. Worked out a simple loop, yielding 18 caches in total with a couple of drivebys on the way home. 16/18. No obvious parking spot near this one so just pulled up on the verge and put the hazards on as I thought it should be a quick one. It was indeed, so I managed to sign and replace before any other vehicles came by, despite the distraction of crazy barking from very agitated dogs in the adjacent property. TFTC #1396

Visited this today with a friend. Didn't solve so won't log as found but what a lovely final touch - very clever, really made my day and I've now got my very own Mr Crow button to boot!!

When I first saw this published I thought 'Ooh goody my favourite sort of puzzle!' and quickly grabbed my puzzle solving book and set about copying the page...

Much scribbling and rubbing out went on but I didn't seem to be any closer to the answer...

I put my book down and forgot about the puzzle.

Then one day at school I was preparing a lesson and I spotted something in a tray...a thought crossed my mind...How many of these do we have? I hunted about and soon had quite a collection. I redrew the page and once again set about on the mission...

I tried this and then that.
Hmmm...
I put all the bits in a tray and just shook it...

...

I shook it again...

I wondered how many times I would need to shake it to get the answer

I stopped shaking the tray and set about sorting it out in a more methodical manner...

There were some issues with my method...
These were resolved with one of my faithful bits of puzzle solving kit (the thing from the top of the fridge!) And finally I had some numbers!

Today was my first chance to visit the cache since solving it quite some time ago...

It was dark when we got to GZ and I wondered if I would find it. My torch was flickering and I could tell it wouldn't last much longer. I'd walked too far and I wandered back to a nice hiding place I had spotted. A little hunt revealed the cache!

Getting to GZ was great fun! When I was small we once went to a pub with my Grandad and as we waited for our drinks he looked up at the wall. The owner asked why he was looking there. He said I can't believe you took it out. The owner looked shocked. How do you know they asked. My Grandad explained he had remembered coming here in the past and seeing the most beautiful stained glass window. The owners face went white. That window was removed around a hundred years ago...
We looked at my Grandad and he just carried on about how beautiful it was with the sun shining through it...

It was a bit like that here

Once at GZ I quickly spotted the neatly hidden cache.

We decided to head for the CBN Cycle Route caches today, and also picked up some other caches along the way. It was a very successful day with 52 finds in the space of about 5 hours, and that included stopping for lunch as well! It was such good fun, it felt like we were on a mission. We drove down some tiny little lanes and visited some awesome Churches. LittleMissLeanne also celebrated her 1000th find along the way!

A quick find. Been wanting to come and pick these two up for ages, I just have 1 of the Essex 100 to grab now, it was a DNF in the middle of the Tollesbury Wick series for me over 4 years ago, one day I will get around to walking it again to grab it!

Attempted the first stage a while ago but was thwarted by wrong numbers (particularly Z which we ended up guessing as am pretty sure it's wrong) and t which we couldn't find. After some conjecture we came up with the goods and Mrs Crazyhedgehog completed the final stage and then off to GZ for a quick find - once we'd picked a night that the noisy dog was asleep that is! An interesting idea, frustrating and fascinating at the same time and glad to have a smiley here at last, TFTC!

I had completed the Essex 100 a while ago and then recently I noticed this new addition on the map.
With a trip planned to Crow Country I wondered if we might have time to fit in the walk to this.
It looked like a nice walk and I was looking forward to walking and seeing the views across to the estuary.
We parked near the church and had a lovely walk east.
The sunshine was wonderful and I was pleased I had left my extra coat at home
I made a bit of a mess of directing us to GZ and on the way there we encountered a ditch and some undergrowth. We avoided that on the way back and climbed over the big gate instead!
The views were lovely with the sun on the water.
Once at GZ we quickly spotted the neatly hidden cache and I carefully added our names to the logbook.

A much belated pickup of a pair of rally rounds and with a little time to spare this seemed a good idea. Initially I thought a northern approach may be possible but decided against. Good weather though very muddy and a little disorientated but soon arrived at gz and found quickly. SL

What madness was this?!
I have loved and hated this puzzle!
I have been down so many roads whilst trying to solve it.
Then one day I discovered something wonderful.
How could I be wrong? It looked so perfect...
I spent ages researching it.
I made notes and soon had pages and pages of ideas.
I loved the idea of it.
But the checker just kept saying no!
What was I missing?
This was all before the extra hint.
The extra hint confirmed my thoughts but did nothing else to help...
The breakthrough came whilst I was thinking about two other puzzles and I thought oh that's just like...
I came back to this with the new idea and very soon I had the plot!
I smiled at where it was...well...I say smiled...

This puzzle was a lot of fun!
I couldn't solve the anagram but I thought never mind this looks mathsy, I should be fine.
Whilst studying with the OU I did a little module called maths for science and it had a wonderful textbook/workbook with it. I grabbed it off the shelf. Time to brush up on my maths...
I spent a while trying this and that before putting the book down and looking once again at the anagram...

I'm not very good at them but enjoy trying to suss them out.

I really enjoyed the journey of solving this. I love how wrong how I got it for ages and then the moment when I suddenly realised what I had to do. I loved the exploring bit in the middle.

Leaving a favourite point here for the fun I had solving it!

Jen has been on a little rally round spree lately after seeing Mr Crow a few days back at a meet she decided to fit a few puzzles inbetween her mega stuff. Jen started on this one and got somewhere quickly to begin with but then hit a brick wall but then all of a sudden after revisiting some old methods she soon had a set of plausible coordinates and geochecker said yes!
Simon had to walk HnC this morning before a meeting at one of the mega event venues so headed out early in the cold crisp morning sun. It was a really enjoyable stroll and soon got to GZ where this nice little cache was in hand. At GZ he also saw a Muntjac - but it appeared to be a hybrid as it had a huge huge white bushy tail. When I was little I remember my Mum and my Nan sitting and solving a crossword in one of the big papers, I'm not sure which one it was now. I liked a puzzle and when they put it down for a break I would look at it but the words didn't make much sense to me. When I got to primary school, on a Friday afternoon we would all file into the Fourth year teacher's classroom. I was a bit scared of him, he was quite stern. But this was puzzle afternoon! We each had a special exercise book for these afternoons. It was squared paper. He would set crosswords for us to solve. There were no handouts and gluesticks in those days. First, we must spend a little time carefully copying the crossword into our books. Then the clues would be presented to us, one at a time. I loved these afternoons. It was quiet and peaceful and we would all be sharing ideas and trying to solve this weeks puzzle. Later, when I had left home, I was in a house share and we would spend lovely lazy Saturday mornings attempting to complete one of the big paper cryptic crosswords...I was rubbish at them...but one of my housemates was very patient and would explain to me how the questions and answers worked...

Then this was published!
Oh no I thought...then I thought no don't be negative...and began to try and solve it...
Slowly, slowly the answers came.
This was tough!
It wasn't like Mr Leyden's puzzle time
Eventually I had most of the answers and began the next stage...it is only now as I return to the page to log this that I see the hint!!!
I turned to a more technical method to solve the last few elusive clues and eventually got a plot I liked!

At GZ I began to search...hmmm not in the first or second place I looked and also not in the third...was it here? Was I in the right place? Was it missing? My companion for the day confirmed we were in the right place and on a second look, there was the cache!
I liked the container!
I carefully signed and replaced the cache.

Not many solved but unfound Rally Rounds to pick up but with RR178 collected and a sunny day ... Oh Why not?

A few options to get here one walked several times before, so chose the one slightly furthest away. Had localised notes and OS map but set out heading in the rough direction. A lovely walk with one major moment of indecision regarding the way. The four legged friend however seemed unperturbed but even so avoided this route on the return.

With gz in sight there was a metal detecting individual not 50 yards away. Fortunately it wasn't long before he moved on.

Pacing spot on here and a great hide containing an even nicer cache. Who would have expected that?

Excellent cache, clever puzzle, lovely location and great container.

Log signed and a "no-path crossing" return to the car.

A relatively easy Rally Round at first glance. And maybe it is, but what a right Horlicks I managed to make of it.
Most letters came quickly and all those found were correct, or so I thought. Just a few stragglers and an iffy one but surely enough to guess the solution. Much speculation and map searching later and only one remotely likely plot and so the checking began. Surely the degrees are correct so focus on the minutes. No, so check the degrees. No, so back to the letters. No way forward it seemed and round and round it went.
Eventually I discovered one mistake thanks to a friend but still had it wrong. Then another mistake when it dawned on me that E-beam was not E minus beam.
Finally I had a solution based on all but one of the Norays. (Incidentally conjectured earlier and discounted.)

A good weather-wise morning seemed likely so with a few notes and an eastern diversion it was into Crow country once more. It was not the first time I’ve been here (probably been passed a hundred times) but with the aid of the clue and a certain resolve there was No way it was remaining unfound.
A very sneaky hide indeed and not at all what I expected but fitted well with one aspect. Log signed and returned.

A favourite? Well at many times in the not solving stage there was no chance whatsoever, but NoRay cache is without merit and the idea behind this plus the hint deserve it.

This has become one of my favourite puzzles I have solved!
It wasn't like that at the beginning
I looked at it and thought where do I start? I'll never solve that.
I started in the normal way...
I started in my puzzle solving box...
I gathered a few bits and pieces and spent a few happy hours making two pretty jigsaws!
I carefully numbered each piece...the Sw0rd and I made some progress but then I turned my back just for a moment...
The small black cat that shares my house decided they would make a fine bed!
She snuggled down on the pieces and that was the end of that!
It may have stayed that way but then last week the Sw0rd mentioned the puzzle again...
And so it began...
A few wonderful days and a few very late nights...
Each night the clock would slowly tick towards 1am and I would finally have to give in for the evening...
Finally on Friday we had plot...
A nice plot...but the checker said 'No!'.
The Sw0rd was busy pot holing and it was decided we would make Monday our evening to go and see if we were right!
Monday soon came and after briefly getting distracted by some rather nice barbie caches we were finally heading towards In-Verse...
Would we find it?
We neared GZ, my GPSr decided to jump around a bit. It's here I announced and we began searching. I was still in my work trousers and I wasn't sure how I was going to explain the muddy knees tomorrow
After a few minutes searching I stood up...'I don't think he would put it here', I said. We both looked at where we were...we both agreed it probably wouldn't be here

We extracted ourselves and waited for my GPSr to settle...
This time we found it!
I loved the container
I signed the logbook for us both and we carefully rehid the cache.

Thank you so much for a really wonderful puzzle and a lovely cache! This is definitely in my top ten of puzzles I have solved! I was quite sad to finally finish it!

Found this in between Lunch and afternoon tea at the Tiptree tea rooms thought about knocking for a cup of tea but CO was probably out running around the countryside. Nice big cache Ray nice area must be a lot of rich Folk live in these here parts.

After a nice lunch at the Jam Factory with Scarecrow Rog and Pollystyrene, we though they ought to visit this cache today. After struggling with the lock, we think the old villain lifted some TBs !

I'm sure this should have been a relatively easy Rally Round puzzle to solve but having worked out what I thought the answer was I put it into the checker and it said I was wrong. Re-read the cache page and realised there was probably another way of solving this one. Set about it with a map and came up with a promising location.

I was helping sort Jumble today for the Scout Sale next week and so needed a cache that wasn't too far from home. Decided to see if my guess was correct. It all looked good when I arrived at my guessed coordinates and I was pleased to find the cache in the first place I looked.

Another day spent sorting Jumble for the sale next weekend. Finished just after 1.00pm and decided to go and find a cache before going home. I had solved this one sometime ago but I put the coordinates into the checker last night just to make sure they were correct.

Fortunately they were. Arrived at GZ after a very muddy walk and found the cache tucked away from the elements. Thanks for placing.

Another Crow puzzle that I solved a little while back. Chose today to go and find it. Probably not the bestidea as the path was very muddy. It got worse as I got closer to GZ. I passed the same runner twice (or should I say he passed me twice). I was signing the log on the second occasion and he must have wondered what I was doing. Saw some alpacas in a field on the way back.

Spending the day helping at the Scout Jumble Sale and so I needed to find a cache reasonably close to home and early in the morning. I had solved this one a week or so ago. THe puzzle was easier than Rebecca 2 although I did get stuck at one point and had difficulty moving on. I liked this puzzle as unlike most Crow puzzles it was one I could do!

Arrived at GZ and soon found the hide. Thanks for placing.

Found this one easily enough, but the clue threw me a bit. There was nothing for it to stick to and when I found the cache it was indeed using its marvellous sticking powers, but the chat and the item were both just lying on the ground not attached to anything. Odd. I replaced where I found it and tried to disguise it as best I could.

After a good rummage, I found this one safe and sound.

I would have spent longer looking around all possible hiding places, had it not been for the farmer turning up to feed the sheep minutes after I arrived. Had to give up gracefully and move on.

Co-ordinates were spot on. Waited for the sheep to move and then retrieved cache.

GPS wanted me to clamber over at least one gate. I was not convinced. Hunted around for a while, but left empty handed.

Found it. Pot is cracked (but now I have actually read previous logs, you already know that!), but the log is still fairly dry. Cache was home to a family of spiders who were not happy at being disturbed this morning.

A nice easy find this morning.

Spotted the cache sitting happily on the bank, out in the open. Was a little wet, but the log is dry-ish. Replaced in a suitable hiding place under the tree.

Found it. The path from here to Essex 100 5/47(2) was not immediately obvious. I walked along the line of the telegraph pole across the field, but should have gone around the edge of the field.

Walked across the field from 5/47 and then had to make my way from the middle of the field to the edge to find this cache. Lid was an absolute pain to undo. There is no chance any water will get into this cache!

Had a terrible time getting from 5/47(2) to this cache. Footpath signs dried up as I got to the farm, so used common sense to walk past the paddock and along to the path. Met an irate old man in slippers telling me I had gone the wrong way and that the path heads behind the house. I apologised and explained that I had followed the path arrows. He continued to rant at me and asked where I was going and how I had got from the seawall to his farm. I explained that I was out for a walk and apologised again for going the wrong way. Eventually managed to get onto the footpath to be confronted by a lady and the Rights Of Way Inspector discussing walkers not being able to find their way along the path through the farm. I again apologised for using my common sense in the absence of any footpath markers. The RoW Inspector agreed that the irate old man in slippers needs to be replaced by proper signage. All this took place right next to GZ, so I had no chance to dive into the undergrowth and hunt for the cache. Will absolutely not be returning here!

Found it tucked away in its little hide hole.

As previous logs have mentioned, there didn't seem to be an obvious spot for the cache, but the co-ordinates were spot on and I found the cache immediately. Wiped off the weird fungus from the pot, signed log and replaced.

#4,800 Since we were in the area, we thought we'd drop by to find a rare green box in Mr Crow country. A really marvellous edifice and one of the biggest caches we have ever seen Took Scottish TB and left Chicaven Hen TB as this seemed an appropriate lodging for her. We'll be back another day to pick up the bonus. TFTC and a favourite

Worked this out on the map at home until the rugby post where I couldn't get the numbers! So had to finish the puzzle whilst parked up. Crow's comment back in August is today a mega understatement. The whole area is well under water to get to GZ nearly over your boots but cache is dry and safe.....just. TFTC and a favourite point, my sort of puzzle.

After a week of chatting to the crow I was gutted to find him not in residence
I had brought some top quality bird seed, as he had requested.
I can only assume that with no visitors for 17 months he has given up waiting
I had thoroughly enjoyed our regular chats, although I did find the four hour time limit very annoying.
Would have rather done the puzzle in one hit .... I think I had 22 visits in total over a week.

Cant understand why more people haven't solved this as it is very straightforward, but with the four hour limit it does require a lot of patience.

Great puzzle and definite favourite.

StratOman has some superb perseverance I'll give him that, along with his observation. No competition here from us with a puzzle such as this. Not our thing at all and I got bored with it all. Easy find at GZ TFTC

Another puzzle that has been on the "to do" pile for ages.
During our last visit ATM mentioned the meaning of "In camera", and this led to a totally different line of enquiry. Eventually the puzzle gave up it's secret.
Still one more step which didn't take too long.

When we arrived at GZ we found the cache, "In camera"

You could make a cereal of this the time it took for it to come to light. Then in a flash StratOman had exposed the clever answer. Today we nearly had to swim some of the way there in the mud whilst ATM drove to pick us up the other end of the path. We were amused to see the amount of interest the local creatures have had in the cache holder. They can't all be photogenic! TFTC

Suddenly I noticed one word on the cache page and the penny dropped.

ATM again came to the rescue at GZ making the find.
So glad to get this one off the pile. Just need to do the other twenty seven LOL

After all this time and looking back quite a few times we couldn't believe that's what it meant! StratOman was quick to sort it after that. At GZ ATM was quids in as he found it where we both had already looked. TFTC

ATM solved over half of this very old crossword.
Much searching on-line was required to finish to puzzle.
A little bit of arithmetic yielded some very promising numbers.

Got StratOman off the starting line and after finding out how much to buy the newspaper we abandoned hope of a quick result. ATM plodded on with no utterings of a cross word whilst StratOman had another method up his sleeve which worked out quicker. He then plodded on with the rest of it. Today we managed a non muddy walk to GZ and only stumbled on a nasty chap shooting pigeons on the way. Easy find here but no picture of you Mr Crow in your Birth day suit. TFTC

Great team effort by myself and Deebooted&ATM on this excellent puzzle.

We spent rather a long time honing the least significant digits, but eventually got a green the light.
If we lived nearer we would have simply checked it out earlier, but with a 60 mile round trip we need to be certain.
Deebooted and I were having trouble finding the cache when ATM came to the rescue. Nice hide.

Good puzzle to get your teeth into. Research and then more research. Google, maps and websites all to hand and all hands on deck for this one. We couldn't arrive at perfection in the first hit and had a few back to the drawing board moments with debate into the late hours but eventually came up with the checker saying yes. We had been in the right place all the time with a digit out! At GZ we were all a little puzzled at not putting our hands straight on the blighter and about to report a missing pot but ATM had one last go and there it was sneakily hiding. TFTC and a favourite for one of our favourites

Found it this time - the sheep caught up with me later, but I was watched by a curious birdwatcher! TFTC

Yay! Realised that there were still 3 green boxes on my map in between all the question marks , and also the opportunity to walk my parents' dog again today, meant a caching outing this afternoon was a great choice. The track along here from the church was very dry and walkable, and although the wind was biting the views were great. I remembered the location of this one from my visit last summer when the nettles defeated me, but today the dead vegetation was easily overcome and I spotted the cache straight away due to giveaway coloured lid! Cache in great condition, very well made, and I returned it with the lid less conspicuous.

As I passed this previously-found cache today, I noticed that it was very exposed in its knot hole due to lack of surrounding vegetation, and also because it has a blue lid! Added a log to disguise it better. Hope this was ok.

Finishing off this series this afternoon, really enjoying the walk. Purdey the geohound enjoyed the mud around here, a real contrast from the dry track on the other side of the stream nearer the church. There is a pheasant feeder nailed to the fence here, but with a bit of leaning I soon spotted the cache. Signed another log in lovely condition, left better covered.

Walking South from Tolleshunt D'Arcy with the wind in our faces, at least we knew it would blow us back again. Thanks to excellent precise co-ords, found this without the hint although it was bigger than expected! Another lovely dry cache in good condition in another excellent hiding place. Left a card promoting the Mega as the pot was empty other than the log, sorry I didn't have any other goodies with me to leave as I had only come out with a GPS and pen (plus dog lead, dog snacks, dog ball, poo bags, etc)

Whilst in the area I thought I'd check if there were any nearby caches and realised we were parked a stones throw from this one! We put our wellies on and set out to pick up a couple of unexpected caches! This was a quick find thanks o the hint! tftc

We were enjoying the lack of mud on this walk (little did we know this wouldn't last much longer!) Dave spotted this one fairly quickly. tftc

There were some very muddy patches between the last cache and this one but then that's what willies are for! The interesting views along this stretch more than made up for it! tftc

Out walking the dogs and for some reason looked in the tree !!!!! Wow I was so exited . Going to try and find some more , get all the family involved ;-)

Having fallen down the stairs yesterday and feeling someone battered I needed to find a cache close to home and one which was easily accessible. For once this was a Crow puzzle that I thought I could solve without any help. I had an idea of what I needed to do and I was pleased to discover the information I needed after a bit of research. I didn't actually work out the coordinates, but the location I'd arrived at and the google street view looked very promising so I set off anyway.

Got to GZ abd parked "safely and discreetly". After a short search I had the cache in my hand. Loved the puzzle. Thanks for placing.

Back in Tolleshunt Knights to pick up a couple of caches that I'd been working on over the last few days. I'd collected the necessary information for this one when I was last in the area but time wasn't on my side then and so I didn't have time to work out the final coordinates. Today it was a quick find at GZ although access to the graveyard was difficult today as road maintenance in place and access from one direction was not possible.

Always good to solve a Crow puzzle and the added bonus here (for me) was thats its a Church Micro. Thanks for placing.

Back in Tolleshunt Knights to pick up a couple of caches that I'd been working on over the last few days. I'd visted the area on Monday and taken photos of the required plaques. Back home to work out the final coordinates in the comfort of a warm lounge. This took a little while to sort out and I failed on my first attempt as I made a couple of silly mistakes. Looking at the numbers of wrong attempts on the Crow Checker it doesn't look as though I was the only person to do this!

Once I'd got the correct message it was a case of working out the best way to access the cache. With this done it was a slow (because of injuries) and careful walk to GZ. Spotted the obvvious on my approach and sure enough there was the cache. Thanks for placing.

there had been some path widening work going on here, butthe cache is good and safe, thanks

clambered about and searched for about 10 minutes. Hint made sense but no cache found sadly, which meant thatwe could not progress to the others as intended.

Really muddy on this section. We observe that Essex is flat and therefore does not drain. Luckily we had wellies on. Really got splattered here. No trouble at GZ despite not managing to unravel the hint, thanks

could not get the green light from the checker for our solution, but cache was located at the co-ords we had calculated. Thanks good puzzle.

Found the sculpture and took the coordinates. Made the adjustments and off I went to GZ. Despite going round in circles I ended up in the middle of an open area of heathland that was obviously wrong. Returned to the sculpture and tried again. The GPS took me to a different area and this time it all looked much more promising. However, I hadn't managed to work out the location anagram and despite a hunt in a few likey places I failed to find the cache. I'll have to return another day - preferably when the area is not so muddy and wet!

7.00pm 20th February 2014

5.45pm and an email pops into my inbox. Its a newly published cache. I see its a Crow puzzle. No chance of being able to solve it let alone get a FTF I think but I open the cache page anyway. Quite a surprise to see a number puzzle. I quite like these although some of them can be a bit tricky. I stop watching Pointless and set about solving the puzzle. After about 45 minutes I've completed it. Put the numbers associated with the letters into the coded coordinates and it's a promising location. Numbers then entered into the Crow Checker and the message comes up saying my workings out are correct. Pondered as to whether I should rush out and attempt a FTF or wait until the morning. I don't like caching in the dark particularly if the area is quite remote. However, the temptation is just too great. Got to GZ. No one there so I start to search by torchlight. The cache isn't in the first place I look but It is in the second. A clean log sheet - fantastic!

Following a fall down the stairs a few days a ago, and as a result not being able to walk too far, the Essex Way Caches have been put on the back burner and I've concentrated on a few Crow puzzles instead. I quite like number puzzles although this particular type can be quite hard. Made one little slip on my first attempt - not with the puzzle itself but with inputing the numbers into the coded coordinates!

After a failed attempt to find RR27, and needing to find a cache today to keep my daily streak going, I set off for this one. Got to GZ and waited for two cyclists to past before retrieving the cache. Thanks for placing. Another Crow puzzle ticked off the list.

Having found RR27 I moved on to this one, a puzzle I'd solved some time ago but had yet to collect. Managed to park reasonably close which was a blessing and set off along the track. Got to GZ and found the cache in pieces and spread around the area. Dried out the container. The log was missing and so replaced with a bit of paper (sorry I didn't hve a proper log on me). You may need to check this one.

Back again today for another look after a nudge in the right direction from the CO. I now realise the mistake I made yesterday. Today it was a much shorter walk to GZ and the cache was found without any problems. Yesterday I ended up on the other side of the heath! Glad to have finally found this one.

Found it ... twice!

The first time was a pure conjecture based on a subsequently self imposed unacceptable practice. This was after the medals had gone missing. (How anyone found them is unbelievable) A tricky and surprising find.
The second visit many many months later, was an attempt to reverse engineer the coordinates after the first to find/solve. This was even more difficult to locate than the first time and I came very close to giving up.
Neither time was the log signed and that's the way it remained. Two subsequent attempts to log were aborted. One by the CO plying me with coffee and chat and one by, well, time and ...

Oh to get back the time spent attempting to solve. No, Je regret rien, it's the journey sometimes not the arriving.

Oh what a long winding road this has been!
The first part I knew straight away but the rest...that has taken much much longer.
I have sat staring at my scribbles.
My mind map growing ever larger...when all along the answer was one of the first things I ever wrote...
How did I realise it was right?
It has bugged me...something about the puzzle has bugged me for ages...
I decided if I could uncode that, the rest would fall into place.
But what was it?
Well I was sure I knew what it was but how could I make it into what I thought it should say?
Sometimes when you stop thinking you find the answer.
Suddenly my mouth was moving and I realised what I was saying...
Could I be right?
It was some time later before I could check my idea.
I sat with my head in my hand.
It had been in front of me all along.
My scribbles suddenly made sense and there was the plot!
This is a place I have looked before!
Was it there then and I missed it?
Was it missing that time?
Was it not placed and I looked before it was even published?
Who knows...
But now it is there!

This has been a lovely journey!

Walked past this one, distracted by the flocks of birds and the view. We needed to backtrack a ways, but found it quickly when we arrived at GZ. TFTC

As we approached GZ we were concerned. It looks as if the water has gone all the way to the top of the dike recently. Seaweed wrapped all around the stairs and driftwood along the top. Knew what we were looking for, but just couldn't find it. The hedgerow has been severely trimmed recently and the ground is covered with cut bits of branches, leaves, and thorns. We looked around, but couldn't spot the cache. It might still be there, buried under the leaves and bits of branches, but we couldn't find it.

After disappointment at the last two caches, we were certainly glad to find this one easily. TFTC

These bushes had also been trimmed recently, but we spotted a lid lying on the ground. After a lot of searching we managed to locate the rest of the cache. Log still intact, but very damp. Cache back together now and in place (we put it at the bush we found the lid at, since the cache was spread all along the hedgerow, and we with the trimming we couldn't figure out where the hint described). After a very muddy walk across the fields, this was a quick find. Spotted it from a distance, although later in spring it might be harder to find. TFTC

Suspect that this one is gone now. The ditch and all surrounding shrubs, logs, hollow stumps, etc. have all been clear out and burned. All that's left is one lone tree (with no cache that we could see) and a completely empty ditch (no plants, branches, anything). It looks like this was done recently, the piles of burned branches, etc. look like they were burned in just the past few weeks.
The way the landscape looks right now, there isn't anywhere (that we could find) for a cache to be hidden.

Dia para ir ver o os ciclistas na volta ao Algarve perto de Salir, tendo na ida e no regresso sido feitas umas caches, sendo esta uma das encontradas.
Local que desconhecia por completo.
Enigma resolvido parcialmente pela minha filha, pois o geocheker não dava certo, mas fomos lá na mesma e encontra-mos a dita.
Cache essa a demorar pouco tempo a saltar do seu ninho.

I have spent many hours looking at this puzzle.
A day trip to Brighton before Christmas led to an interesting discovery in a sweet store...
40 pence for a small packet of gum.
Something about it caught my eye.
There was a face I recognised!
I picked it up and turned it over.
Was this a clue?
I read the packet...
I dithered about whether I should buy it or not, eventually I put it back on the shelf...

That was as far as I got until recently...

Suddenly everything began to fall into place and after a really fun few hours of puzzling 3Sw0rds and I had a plot.

This evening just as the sun was setting we went in search of the cache.

It was a motley bunch who lined up at the start line.

At least three of them fell down in fright when the starting pistol was fired.

'Galloping Gilly' shot out in front of course.

He might have made it had he not been distracted by a rather bazaar looking clown getting very excited in the audience.

PuReWaRRioR was the favorite, but he kept tripping over cats.

I don't know who let the Womble into the arena but it really didn't help.

A little drunken monkey put paid to a number of runners.

A fast running monster took out many more.

In the end only two were left.......

I wonder how much time have I spent on 96 (1)?
I was so close to solving it last week when I saw the archived log...
My reaction was much like Grahame's...
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I started looking the day it was published and had a lovely idea that involved the keypad and some odd but plausible looking runes.
I even found some runes that looked similar if you rotated them slightly and reversed them!!!
This idea was long ago dismissed but what was the answer...

As we returned from another adventure, 3Sw0rds asked me about it...
I began at the beginning and told her the tale of 96 (1).
I didn't leave anything out.
I thought maybe she might see where I had made a mistake or missed a turning...
I enthusiastically chattered about all the things I had tried as we meandered our way home...

Back home and I was tucking into tea/breakfast/lunch/supper I can't remember which when I receive a message from the Sw0rd...she had pieced together my fragile threads of ideas into one colossal ball of idea...the ball looked good...I put down my fork...the ball looked amazing.
Plate pushed aside, I reached for my notebook...my food went cold as I scribbled carefully across the pages...
I couldn't believe this might finally be the answer to 96 (1) and 96 (2).
Not content with just solving (2), for completeness I had to solve (1) as well...
Two pieces took me longer than the rest and I ate pudding whilst I pondered them...
Finally I had a plot and it looked so good!
GZ wasn't quite as straightforward as I thought it might be but after searching for a while the Sw0rd located the nicely hidden cache!

This has been a lovely adventure and one I didn't ever think I would finish.

I found this just as tricky as the original but made an assumption and it worked out.

Can't seemingly solve anything any more. So picking up those solved seemed a good idea.
This puzzle was one in which the final step came from a friendly quarter. A classic Crow and pleased to be 3rd tf.

Thanks I have really enjoyed my stroll this morning. Only one crazy girl today as the others were at school. It did mean that I got to walk at my own pace and cover a larger area. Measured in google maps before setting off and worked out it was about 4.5 miles. Four and a quarter hours later and with sore legs I got back to my car certain that it was longer than that. Once home I measured again on an ordinance survey and it was just over eight miles! Thanks for setting it all up mr crow.

I had planned to find either a couple of RR puzzles today or complete a short section of the Essex Way. The decision was made for me as the weather was bad and I didn't fancy a long walk in the rain.

I'd originally looked at this puzzle a year or so ago but had dismissed it as I thought it was too hard. Revisited the cache page earlier in the week and decided the first thing I would need to do was solve the anagrams. With that task out of the way, I had an idea of what was involved. I needed a certain site on the internet which I was having trouble locating but found one eventually, and with the information from that I was able to work out the final coordinates.

I'd expected the Crow Checker to say I was wrong but surprise, surprise, up popped a CORRECT message.

I know this area quite well so realised how far I could take the car. Arrived at GZ (in the rain) and fortunately soon found the cache. Another Rally Round ticked off my list.

When I looked at this cache page I didn't even understand what I had to do, let alone know where to start. The first thing was to try and understand what was required using Google. I only made a very small inroad before drawing a blank. I needed a couple of hints from Mr Crow before realising what needed to be done. Very clever and relatively simple to work out once on the right track.

The Crow Checker said I had the correct coordinates so set off to find the cache today. I'd worked out the location anagram so knew what to look for when I arrived at GZ. Lots of puddles and mud but cache is safe and the log is dry.

Favourite point given for a clever puzzle.

Couldn't find it at all! Didn't have a clue what the hint meant, think it needs more hints or clues

Second attempt at this one. Nettle free and able to get to GZ with a little more ease. Soon found TFTC.

The Victorians Have Landed !! Chance to make this find today after it had previously escaped me. A stiff wind today made for a hardy walk along the seawall to GZ. As I approached was a affronted by a row of newly created beach huts raised on stilts looking for water at lower tide. Queen Victoria would have been proud to swap her hut on wheels for these rather smart weather proof, pastel shaded huts with double glass frontier - all very smart...... Nice hide SL TFTC. I had not seen this type of puzzle before RR 119 (1) and when I saw that had been archived I looked forward to the publication of a new version.
I was sitting having my after school snack when this appeared in my inbox.

I had it solved quickly and wondered about heading out to look for it...The Sw0rd was busy cooking dinner and I really should be cooking mine...but my mind kept wondering should I go? It was really nice to see Karen's log come in.
Well done on the FTF Karen!

Today, I smiled as we approached GZ.
I have been here before.
I have been here many times!
I didn't take too long for me to spot the hide and I carefully retrieved the cache from it's hiding place.
I signed my name very neatly and replaced the cache for the next finder.

The solving of this puzzle adds more weight to the belief I have that once a puzzle has been solved, the answer is out there in other peoples brain waves.
Something happens...suddenly I have an idea, a tiny spark of an idea...
This hadn't happened with Jollyquest's and Gillywig's finds...but the recent find my StratOman and Deebooted & ATM finds triggered something. Maybe a critical mass of brain waves that knew the answer had accumulated...enough for me to finally find that spark of an idea...
The answer still took a while.
I played with this and that...
Then one morning during break I had an idea...
Actually three ideas
One of them must be correct I thought...

The checker works on my lab computer and nervously I typed the first idea in...NO!
In went the second idea...I waited to press 'submit'...NO!
Hmmm...could it be third time lucky?
I typed it in...and yes, there was the lovely green success writing!

Today, at GZ, I wandered round...it wasn't in the first place I looked.
But after a moment I had another idea and there it was!
I signed and replaced the log and carefully made my way back to the car...I didn't want a repeat of batteries not required!!!

Three times in my life my grade B O'Level in German has come in handy. The first was a trip to Poland, the second was the Munich Giga last year and the third time...this puzzle...actually now I type this I can think of another puzzle too

I had a lovely evening in the CAMRA East of England pub of the year on Wednesday, sitting trying a few lovely ciders from their cider menu and solving this puzzle.
No lap top with me meant I was reliant on my GPS as a source of plot checking.
The norths came fairly easily but the easts took a little longer.
My favourite cider of the evening was a lovely sweet ginger with a hint of chilli. I believe it was called Thistley Pig

Once at GZ it didn't take too long to spot the cache.
I carefully negotiated the thistley things and retrieved the cache.

Well this is, I think, although I could be wrong as my memory is terrible these days, a new life experience...a DNF on a Rally Round...I get my first red box...to go with my green, pale blue and mystery rather nice dark blue box.

I loved the puzzle!
I have looked at it on and off for ages but it wasn't till this week that I finally knew what to do.
Dinner was put to one side and my page filled with scribbles.
It wasn't long before I had a nice plot...
It felt appropriate that I should go otter spotting with Grahame
After our other recent otter spotting trips, I wondered if this time we might definitely see an otter!
I have been doing some research...
I was concerned we might be mistaking water rats or mink for otters. I was also concerned we might have mistaken some small type of swimming bird for an otter
This time I was armed with new knowledge. I know what they like to eat and how they differ from mink and swans!!!
A good search at GZ did not reveal the cache today...or indeed any otters! I have heard they like to sleep during the day and it might not have been 'ot enough today...

I look forward to my return visit...

At another time today, we watched a large bird fly over the fields of Crow Country...I have seen lots of buzzards around here but with it's forked tail I wonder if we were lucky enough to see a kite!

Enroute back from the Jubilee Dozen series, a small detour over a little ford - good wellie cleaning opportunity - took us to the cache which was quickly located by Small Stoat. SL, took a pink squidgy thing & left a spinning top. Very distinctive tree!! TFTC!

This was a lot easier to find than on my previous attempt TFTC

My second attempt at this and I found it a lot harder than I should have, I was using an outdated clue which didn't help, thanks for 3G in the field is all I will say TFTC

Couldn't find this, I found a likely looking cord but nothing attached to it

A chance today to pick up a couple of outlaying GC previously DNF. A pleasant but headwind walk around the estuary to GZ on a sunny day, Nice hide ! On previous attempt clearly went down the wrong track. TFTC SL. Quick walk back, blown back to base.

A chance today to find a couple of outlaying GC previously DNF. With the nettles and general undergrowth abated during the winter this previously too tricky GC was soon found. TFTC SL.

After dropping Andrew in Witham for a 7.00 am birding trip, a revisit here was a must, following my DNF on Tuesday. Today the cache was a quick find. Grateful thanks to Mr Crow for confirming that the cache was there and for an interesting puzzle. A favourite for sure.

We got so far with this puzzle and it went onto the unsolved pile.
Yesterday whilst re-looking a fact emerged that we were previously unaware of.
After some manipulation of the information that this very interesting snippet provided, a set of coords were gradually forthcoming. Much to our delight the checker agreed with our calculations yesterday.

Once the anagram was solved, life became a lot easier for solving this.

Feel a bit of a fraud here as I would never have solved without having the knowledge needed to unlock the original cache.
A truly great puzzle in my view and one which I feel privileged to know how to unravel.
Will sign the log next time I'm passing. TFTC.

Oh Why Oh why didn't I solve this sooner?
Did the first part immediately, surprisingly. Then was on the correct path but just couldn't work it out. Left it, returning every now and then after dismissing the doubts that had crept it.
Then doh! that SS moment.

TFTC A favourite for several reasons, not least, a true Rally Round!

Needed to solve this one. I'm so vain I probably thought this one was about me ...
Firstly thanks to for the first nudge. Then twice had to visit a resource due to poor source material so to speak. Lastly thanks also to another for confirming my thoughts and making me realise I couldn't count.

Under a little time pressure this afternoon, but a familiar location, so little prep needed. SL and ran(yes!) to and from the car only to notice that my antics were probably observed by two walkers!

TFTC&P really pleased to sign, it has to be a favourite.

I didn't see this published but whilst out on a lovely circular walk around Shotley on Saturday, 3Sw0rds mentioned the new Rally Round.
She described what was on the page and I started wondering about the puzzle.
Once home I was busy and didn't have a chance to look but a lovely lazy Sunday morning meant plenty of time to look at a puzzle or two.
I spent a while looking at RR181 before my mind wandered to this...

I got my special squared paper puzzle book out and a nice sharp pencil and began my usual mind map...

Mrs foxscout was pottering around the house and she called to ask how I was getting on...'I think', I said tentatively, 'that I have it solved'...
I looked at the plot.
Nice!

It took a while to find the cache and I was pleased that at the last moment I had changed from my nice hoody to my chain mail jacket and hood!!!
I pulled the sleeves down to protect my hands.
We hunted here and there when suddenly I felt something and there was the cache.
I wondered if we were the first here today.
We had dithered about going and I imagined we might be third to find.
As I opened the cache I saw the lovely blank log sheet.
We both signed before carefully replacing the cache.

This is a favourite for a couple of reasons!

Oh no , previous cache deleted, we have to do it again
Never liked these type of puzzles, but churned my way through it to get our previously earned
point back. Collect today before doing the Maldon mud 15 series.

"RR119 is out again a new one so we have to do it again" cried StratOman. "Well you'll have to I'm too busy" I replied. So he did and we collected it at GZ today when we found it. TFTC

As soon as I saw this puzzle I was hooked.
Knocked up an Excel spreadsheet with a bit of VB to manipulate the table ( the easy bit ).
All I needed now was the rules of the sequence.

Great thrill when I finally got it and saw ten columns appear with all the right letters.

After fluffing about with the meaning of the title etc it was over to StratOman and his light bulb moment came in reasonable time for a FTF. Not an easy find at GZ with many brambles to conquer. TFTC

We made great progress on this one but then hit the proverbial brick wall.
It wasn't until the CO added an extra hint that I was able to finish it.
I was out today with my caching friends Deebooted & ATM doing the Maldon mud 15
series, so picked up four Rally Round caches whilst in the area.

This brought about searching in various directions and when StratOman kept asking me to check figures I kept telling him we couldn't do it like that as it wouldn't be accurate enough! Then came the extra hint and away he was conquering the last hurdle. How it could have been solved without this extra info we are baffled. All that flying around in space I feel a little Stoned LOL! TFTC

Kitty, it's quite simple all you need to know is:

Had a look for 3SwOrds glasses, but alas they proved more elusive than the cache.

StratOman was on the case here before we got past thinking about what the title could actually mean. We were busy and he has finished it by the time we got back to him! Long walk to GZ but immediate find. We discussed the possibility of finding the specs and moving them on to RR169's GZ for a joke with the FTF's. TFTC

Favourite point pending for the enjoyment and challenge of trying to work out question 11 whilst laying inside an MRI machine. The operator said for me to think of a happy place...maybe my favourite holiday. I had a better idea. Let's work out some of Polymath. I had memorised a couple of questions. This one took me the whole time the numerous scans were running! I imagined a notebook, a pencil and an eraser on the left side of my vision and a cage full of tennis balls on the right

Went back to the GZ today to search for glasses. Nothing :-( No idea where they could be. Drove half the way back on the Sunday before I realised they were missing too!!!

Still, my mind wandered pleasantly on the walk back from the GZ. Transparent glasses hard to see? What about a transparent geocache container that bent light around the log inside? What about a perfect mirror cube. In a field of grass or on a bed of leaves - would you even see it? Or a container perfectly painted to match it's background? My new goal is - 'the invisibility cache'!!

Thank you Mr Crow for yet again keeping us busy and happy with your excellent puzzles.

Any distraction from my failure to solve 3Sw0rds is most welcome :-/

Needed a cache for today and this one was a green box amongst a sea of smiley faces, plus of course a lot of Crow question marks. I'd found the others in this section of the Essex 100 with Louise not long after they were released but for some reason we hadn't collectd this one.

Parked at the end of the footpath in Wash Lane and walked the short distance to GZ. Lots of sheep in the fields on the way and many geese on the nearby lake. Got to GZ and soon spotted the lonely post. I could see exactly where the cache should have been but there was nothing hanging on the hook. A fumble around in my pocket to see if I had a bison but only found a black vial. I've replaced the cache but its in a slightly different location (same coordinates) and added a log (I had a blank one of those in my pocket.
