01 Jan 2020 | CM8482 | GL10F3C67 | Church Micro 848 - All Saints, Great Braxted (2) | Found it | Southseakers Recruit | A short break in Essex and a few CMs en route. A dullish day but after the recent rain nice to celebrate the New Year with a dry one (weather....not alcohol!!). Many thanks to the COs for setting these caches and bringing us to some lovely churches. The GPS wasn't very co-operative here but my first guess at a possible host bore fruit. |

Thanks Ray (A fine pair) |
... | RR172XX | GL10GEPE8 | RR172 - Knight Cache (2) | Found it | gillywig | Nearby with 40 minutes. Have I time? Both prep'd and find logs read, there seemed to be every chance. The original was harder in one respect but this still took me longer, much longer than it should. Soon parked and paced. Looked around and soon spotted it lying in the open. SL (again? Did I need to revisit? What's that about if the names on the log? ) Thanks Ray. Well ahead of time so the other? Yes why not? |

... | AT | GL10GJY3R | Aoraki Thalamorph | Found it | neggrgees | On a beautiful day we made the Hookers Trail. A varied hiking tour with a lot of scenic views. The only disturbing thing was the huge amount of people doing the same walk. But why complaining it was wonderful

Google Earth at first left me concerned, but two 'landmarks' may help. Surprised the closer was easily spotted and then the cache was soon found.

08 Feb 2020 | RR268 | GL10PHDPG | RR268 - Pump | Found it | kareninwb | When this cache was first published, I had no idea what to do. I went and took photos of the pump, not once but twice (in case I’d missed something) and studied them at home. Nothing jumped out and so the RR was put on the back burner. I returned to the puzzle a few times but got nowhere. Watching ‘Only Connect’ on the TV recently, something clicked with one of the connections the teams had to solve. I wondered whether I could apply the same principle to this Rally Round and was surprised when some numbers materialised. I realised I’d stumbled upon something but I had no idea what to do next!
Saw the CO at the event in Maldon recently and he confirmed that I was on the right track. The next stage was harder but eventually, with the help of Google, I arrived at another set of numbers that looked very promising but were in the wrong format for the checker. I struggle with this kind of conversion but once done the plot looked very promising so I put them into the checker and got the green light.
Decided to go and look for the cache today. A familiar area for me, and I was soon at GZ. Cache was found without any problems. Log signed, and time for one more cache today having recently passed my ‘Driving Test’!
Thanks for the Rally Round, Mr Crow. Have a favourite point. |
... | RR271 | GL10PK8Q9 | RR271 - Driving Test | Found it | kareninwb | I had briefly looked at this puzzle when it was first published but realising it required a certain amount of dexterity on the keypad I’d dismissed it without trying. Met the CO at a recent event and he mentioned this cache. Decided I should give it another go. A bit of helped was needed from the youngest member of my family (Ian) who is much better at this kind of skill. He was shocked at my attempt and so took over. It took four goes but eventually we were rewarded with the coordinates.
I took my driving test in 1977 and passed second time (Ian of course passed first time!!). I dread the thought of ever having to resit it to prove I can still drive. The Hazard perception and computer elements would probably get the better of me.
Having found RR205, I decided to put my driving to the test and look for this one. As advised on the cache page, and course as outlined in the Hhighway Code, I parked safely in a layby and walked to GZ. A quick find once there.
Thanks for setting this one, My Crow. It was actually quite enjoyable!! Nice to see my name at the top of the leaderboard for this one. Have a favourite point. |

... | RR027 | GL10RHVTR | RR027 (2) - Ultimate Darkness | Found it | jollyquest | Another Rally Round puzzle we have looked at many times without getting a green light from the checker. All the red herrings were checked out, but there was one vital thing we had overlooked before. SOLVED! A quick find, exactly where hinted. Another cache resuscitation for us today, and another Favourite for Mr Crow. |
... | RR176 | GL10RHQ4P | RR176 - Chickless | Found it | jollyquest | Over the years we have visited this puzzle and not made any headway. This Friday finally broke into the onion, peeled away the layers and visited many places in East Anglia, some strange and some familiar. We resuscitated the cache in every way. The log was unusable so we have signed and left a fresh piece of paper. Thanks for the puzzle. We are pleased to have it on the "Mr Crow FOUND" list now. |
... | RR189X | GL10RJTFA | RR189 - NFC | Write note | jollyquest | We had another attempt at RR189 - NFC today. The field edges were tough going – waterlogged by recent rain. This time we managed to find the NFC device, but for whatever reason the new iPhone XS was unable to detect the tag. We walked on (now raining) to a wooded area where we found the barbed wire referred to in an earlier log. Despite a good search in a wide area we failed to find the cache and reluctantly made our way back to the distant car. |
... | RR234 | GL10RHGRR | RR234 - Board Game 7 | Found it | jollyquest | Somehow we ignored this puzzle when it was published, and we ignored it until February 2020. Don't know why. Mr. J used one of his favourite custom tools which found something odd, so really a D=2.5 puzzle. TFTC and have a FP. |
... | RR275 | GL10RCP54 | RR275 - Onedrous Numbers 3 | Found it | jollyquest | FTF #103 I tried the original version of the puzzle but my solution was 50km away. After checking my method I queried Mr Crow. It turned out that both our methods were correct. When Mr Crow told me that he was using Javascript I suspected a problem with the handling of (very) large numbers. Mr Crow then revised the puzzle. StratOman was quick off the mark and had the mk 2 version solved before my slow program could get there. This morning we searched a few places before we found the sneaky location for the hide. Thanks to Mr Crow for working through the problems to get a fair, but challenging, mystery cache. Rally Round FTF #10 |

Now I know where it is it is just possible to retrieve it without the climb.
Let's hope #3 will be easier to find. TFTC

... | RR275 | GL10RQF9J | RR275 - Onedrous Numbers 3 | Found it | StratOman | I assumed my few lines of Python code used for #1 & #2 would produce the answer for this puzzle, but alas no. I estimated it would take 30 days of computing on my PC So quick conversion to Java and out popped the answer in 6 hours ! Bit disappointed when GZ turned out to be in Kent Whilst debugging the code I realised some iterations were exceeding 19 significant digits the limit of Java. Once this was fixed the program was far too slow. It was at this point that the CO disabled the cache also realising the precision problem. When the new puzzle appeared it was MUCH more manageable and my proggy solved in about 3 minutes using a hybrid technique. At GZ today I was relieved to find the cache immediately , a hide I have used many times. Thanks Ray for such an interesting maths problem allowing me to blow the cobwebs off my programming skills. TFTC and favourite for the mini series. |

... | RR276 | GL10RTG2N | RR276 - âš âš | Found it | grinning_buddha | FTF Triangles look quite simple at first. Three is the minimum number of points and lines to define a plane figure. Easy, or is it? Long ago, someone (quite possibly the pictured gent; he certainly knew this) drew a triangle and then drew three more lines across it. Each line started at a corner and stopped at the middle of the opposite side. Remarkably, all three lines met at a single point. Moreover, if you cut a triangle out of card, it will balance on the tip of a pin at that point, so as well as being a geometrical abstraction it's the centre of mass. It doesn't matter whether your triangle is fat, thin, equilateral, isosceles, scalene, acute, right or obtuse, those lines always meet at a single point and it always balances there. So you might imagine that special point is the centre of the triangle. Yes, it's a centre (called the centroid ), but there are many, many more candidates for that title. Instead of drawing from a corner to the midpoint of the opposite edge, you can draw lines that halve the angles, and they all meet in a (different) point (the incentre ), too. Or you can draw lines at right angles to to the midpoints of the edges, which miss the corners but meet at the circumcentre. Or you can draw right-angled lines which pass through the corners, and they meet at the orthocentre. In fact, the centre of a triangle can be defined in an infinite number of different ways. At the time of writing this, no less than 36837 different centres have been catalogued in a remarkable document called the Encyclopedia of Triangle Centers, including the works of many mathematicians, and a few unexpected contributors too (did you know Napoleon Bonaparte did geometry in between conquering the world?) But all this talk about centre points is missing the central point, which was to find some numbers. Points played a part, but something was missing, and at first it had me running round in circles because I had missed the point, but eventually I was able to align the medians, measure the masses and triangulate GZ. GZ itself was a classic Crow hide, with a classic Crow clue, but I'd met similar before and went straight to the right spot, saving myself a heroic scramble through muddy undergrowth. TFTC, and a favourite for the geometry lesson. |

I was surprised at how quickly the numbers appeared. No problem at all at gz. A novel double potting protecting the log which was signed in 3rd place. Now if I write a program for Onerous onedrous 3 will it find the solution this century? Probably not! TFTC&P (fav pending for one of the trio when all found) |

14 Mar 2020 | RR273 | GL10XJNZW | RR273 - Onedrous Numbers 1 | Found it | gillywig | C is for Clever Cat, Crow, Conundrum, cryptic, cornucopia, cupcake ... but what it meant here was a sending me cuckoo.
Once I knew, this Numbers 1, was quickly solved with the help of internet based lists. [Numbers 2 involved writing a program, Numbers 3 maybe solved if I run my program for approximately 400 days assuming there isn't a multiply problem.] Ironically the method is one I had used several times, back in the day job. Despite this I hadn't known the connection to 'C'.
Gz was a bit of a detailed sketch necessity, having read the previous finders logs. Additional knowledge was a great help as otherwise it may well have remained unfound.
Thanks for the C&P Ray. |
... | RR276 | GL10XJD8N | RR276 - âš âš | Found it | gillywig | Here I knew what to do straightaway. Quite rare these days. Knowing what however doesn't mean it can be done. Although I had solved the anagram a post ftf clarification was required. Even then I decided to check the most significant part of my solution before continuing. As you come to expect with Rally Rounds all is relevant and nothing is pointless. Accuracy is key and oddly the accuracy I was most concerned about was not numerical. Google Earth didn't offer much help but 'classic Crow hide' as previously metioned by gb was most illuminating on arrival. TFTC, and a favourite for the 'value'able lesson.

06 Apr 2020 | RR276 | GL112R7HG | RR276 - âš âš | Write note | StratOman | Due to Covid-19 it will be a long time before I can pick this cache up, so I'm writing a log now as I will forget all the details. On first inspection this seemed a fairly straightforward puzzle involving some basic trigonometry. After solving the anagram I felt the solution would be easy. However, then came the problem, how to convert the binary into meaningful numbers. The puzzle went onto the "to do" pile. With the recent lockdown , and suspension of new caches, I got back to the "to do" pile. This time I managed to half decode the binary, which gave a feasible but incorrect plot. But it did indicating I was on the right path. Eventually I realised how to get more accurate numbers , which resulted in an exact integer Easting, always a good sign with this CO. But the Northing was still giving me an unconvincing number which failed in the checker. As I was using a spreadsheet to do all the calculations the only logical conclusion was I had typed in the binary incorrectly. At this point I even got my wife to call out the digits LOL My transposition was OK, so how could the Northings be wrong. I had been doing all the calculations using a printout of the cache page which I had done when the cache was published. What I hadn't noticed was the North image has changed since I did the printout, but no log of such a change. There was one extra "0" on the bottom line of the Northing triangle. Doh !!!! Glad to put this one to bed at long last, but must wait for pick up. Don't forget :- Stay Home - Protect the NHS - Save lives |

The anagram yielded without too much difficult and led to an encoding scheme which looked promising. I worked with that but couldn't make any sense of the 1's and 0's. Eventually, had to ask the CO for help and was introduced to another unusual encoding scheme.
Then with a bit of rearrangement I had a method which produced feasible coordinates for the northing half. TFTC |

... | RR169 | GL11E18JA | RR169 - Alphabête Noire | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Looking at the checker it's over a year since we solved this, and we've changed the name since. ... | RR247 | GL11E1A5F | RR247 - Panglossian | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? This was a fairly east puzzle solve, some time ago. The geo map from our previous find showed a path across the field towards this but it was all set with broad beans so clearly wasn't the case. And the OS map showed no path. So walked round the edge of the field instead. Got to the right location but was then struggling. Looking back through logs changed the idea of what we were looking for. A more detailed and different search soon had this in hand. All good here. |

This puzzle made no sense whatsoever for a very long time. I observed the deceptive similarities to a couple of other RRs with similar lists of numbers and followed the red herring all the way to nowhere, as the MO was completely different. However, if I'd taken more notice of the title of the other ones, I might have made progress much sooner. As it was, even the final hint took a long time to register, but eventually it all made sense. No problems (apart from the heat) at GZ.

Every time I report my utility meter readings, the energy company invites me to take a free spin of their wheel, in the hope of winning a cash prize. So far I have never succeeded. On this wheel I fared better, once I'd discovered the need to refresh the page between spins, and the question marks were slowly replaced by words. In the intervals of clicking, I discombobulated the anagrams, made some deductions and furthered my education, turning words into numbers.
At GZ I substituted GPS for litaetheorem and its arrow led me straight to the spot.

There wa good news and bad news. The title took me straight to the subject area, which was already familiar. The bad news was the opaque notation, I tried a whole range of different onedrous operations and amassed a collection of methods for trying out different ideas, but those horseshoes made no sense. The good news was that when I finally discovered their significance, I already had a selection of tools ready for the job, and the numbers quickly emerged. Well, relatively quickly. The first two took a small fraction of a second, the third was a matter of hours, but eventually I had all three solutions.
GZ was a little scratchy but otherwise straightforward.

27 May 2020 | RR015 | GL11GY4ZM | RR015 - Cache Championships | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? We've had this solved for a while. Nearby for a walk and exercise so decided to wander over. Solved the location anagram. That was fine, but looked and did not see. OK, so extend the search. Checked we were looking in the right direction, but were we getting our left and right mixed up? Not exactly as described but not hard. Should we, shouldn't we. No, CO was last person to check so leave it where we found it. All good here. |

... | RR172XX | GL11J3V7V | RR172 - Knight Cache (2) | Found it | peegeenine | This cache frustrated me for a while but finally worked out some coords then when I plotted on the map no luck. Back for another look and this time a much better plot but not where we expected it to be having been nearby before. Decided to have a look as we had another cache in the area to pick up. At GZ a very quick find, Stamped log, TFTC |
... | RR202XX | GL11J3QYP | RR202 - â–¡Never Odd Or Evenâ–¡ | Found it | peegeenine | We enjoyed a lovely walk along to this one. Being such a lovely day there were quite a few people about but luckily when we got to GZ we were all alone, stamped log, TFTC |

... | RR271 | GL11J3FGW | RR271 - Driving Test | Found it | peegeenine | Well we certainly fluked this one. Walking along we noticed a gap and then spotted a good spot for a hide and there it was, and in line with the hint. ... | RR005 | GL11K40M3 | RR005 - Totham Triangle 1 | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? This must have been one of the 1st we solved, so time ago. Looking back can't believe how easy some of these early ones are compared to how they quickly developed into something a bit more mind bending. At gz the options were limited but had to brave the undergrowth to get to them. Not a hard find. All good here. |
... | RR007 | GL11K4GE9 | RR007 - Totham Triangle 3 | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? One of the 1st we solved. So long ago. A stroll to gz. Find greatly helped by the hint from the checker. All good here. |
... | RR025X | GL11JHKKW | RR025 - Caroline | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Not dissimilar to Rebecca, and we found it one of the easier RR puzzles to solve when we 1st looked at these. At gz today. Parked as suggested and set forth. Took a couple of minutes to see something that looked like the hint item, and the hiding place looked fairly obvious. Why couldn't we see it then? Done the circuit to see if there was anything we were missing and noticed something on the ground a little distance away. It's the pot. Returned it to where we thought it should be. Might need a bit of delving though. All good here. |
... | RR026X | GL11JHDRK | RR026 - Rebecca | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? We've had this solved for a while now. Probably one of the simpler RR puzzles to get the coords from. At gz parked as suggested and went forth into the jungle. Didn't take long to find the hint item, and easy from then. All good here. |
... | RR039 | GL11K3ZDQ | RR039 - Daddy Crow | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Managed to find somewhere close to park, that's even quieter at this particular time. Soon had it in hand. All good here. |
... | RR040 | GL11K4E2Z | RR040 - Mummy Crow | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Managed to park close and to what looks like an infrequently used path. Then ventured into the undergrowth to find the prize. All good here. |
... | RR041 | GL11K725T | RR041 - Baby Crow | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Managed to solve this a long time ago. They're not so easy now. Managed to park fairly close. Not in the first place to look, then we took the hint literally and it was not long before we spied it. All good here. |
... | RR065 | GL11K4EZ4 | RR065 - °R | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? This didn't take too long to work out. Getting the start coords was the most difficult part. At gz and quick find. All good here. |
... | RR090 | GL11JK7EF | RR090 - Football Fantasy | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Looking at the checker gave an idea of what we were working to, and then it was just a logic puzzle. That was some time ago. At gz the hint really helped to narrow the search. All good here. |
... | RR101X | GL11JHRPN | RR101 - You've Been Framed | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Done this years ago, and more recently with the little un's, so the scoring system was familiar to us. Didn't take too long to get the numbers. That was 18 months ago so it's taken us a little longer to get round to finding it. Parked a little up the road were it was safer to do so and walked down. Tried the wrong host to start but it didn't take long to sort this out. All good here.
|
... | RR102 | GL11JKF1B | RR102 - Julian, Greg or Ian? | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? We worked out what the baisc puzzle was, and then had to decipher how to get the numbers out. That was 18 months ago, and no that isn't a cryptic comment. At gz the gps was struggling to settle but an earlier comment helped, and then spooted a possibly hiding place. There is was, and surprised to find a tb on opening it. It's been here a long while since the last find, so moving it on. All good here. |
... | RR276 | GL11JQY3T | RR276 - âš âš | Found it | StratOman | With the lock down easing it was time to pick this one up. I posted the full log after the solve as a note during the lock down in case I forgot how I did it.
No problems at GZ with a familiar hide for this CO. TFTC and favourite |
03 Jun 2020 | CC | GL130Y8PX | Crow's Cawlumn | Found it | djsheads | Seems a little off the public right of way past a sign saying "no public right of way". The location was a good obvious choice and cache found. |

07 Jun 2020 | RR033 | GL11MHKFA | RR033 - Quite Path-etic (2) | Found it | grinning_buddha | After finding its predecessor, this one posed no problems, though it's been a long interval between solving and finding. GZ was a straightforward find, thanks to the hint.

... | RR172XX | GL11MHM5Q | RR172 - Knight Cache (2) | Found it | grinning_buddha | After finding its predecessor, this one posed no problems, though it's been a long interval between solving and finding. GZ was a straightforward find, thanks to the hint, but it isn't 100% clear whether the hint describes the position of the cache or the actions of the finder . TFTC. |
... | RR266 | GL11MDZ8A | RR266 - A-noun-cement | Write note | grinning_buddha | Found, but not sure whether I qualify as first to anything, given an unknown solver and an undated stamp in the log ahead of me... |

... | RR266 | GL11MHGPZ | RR266 - A-noun-cement | Found it | grinning_buddha | FT(S&F) After staring at this capacious list of words for months I was slowly becoming insane, my mental state was fragile, not so much neutral as pugnacious, and I was starting to think my efforts were temerarious and indeed futile. I even went as far as to make some incivil remarks. Clearly my normal method of solving was insufficiently acute and was no use relative to this particular puzzle, and the polar opposite was required. So it was by an entirely serendipitous method that I discovered the solution of this opaque puzzle. It was under my nose all the time, but today for the first time I noticed a link. Following up my guess led to twelvefold confirmation, but no indication of the next step. Fortunately a simple conjecture turned out to be be veracious and took me to a place far from the CO's usual demesne. There it wasn't too hard to spot the incongruous features and extract unambiguous coordinates. GZ presented no difficulties. TFTC and a favourite for the temerarious nature of the solution |
08 Jun 2020 | CM831 | GL11NT00D | Church Micro 831 - Little Totham Evangelical | Didn't find it | WalfordEast | ???????? Getting the coords for this was easy. We found that very different at gz. The cover was not helping our gps settle but we worked out roughly where it might be. Previous comments said a cammo, and we picked up it might have slipped or fallen. Despite that and a good look around we could not see it. Last finder says the covered the cammo. Not sure you really need to do that here, and that might be why we were finding it harder than others have suggested. Well that's our excuse. Won't try again until we see that someone has found it. |
... | CM831A | GL11NRTY2 | Church Micro 830 - Little Totham - Revisited | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Found this one of the easier puzzles to solve. Parked and sat and had some lunch before walking to get this one. At gz didn't take long to spot the host item, and a quick retrieve. All good here. |
... | RR004 | GL11NRQ3K | RR004 - Totham Tulips | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Solving this was fairly easy. Used GEPro to get the coords for the start of the path and adjusted but once on site the hint meant they didn't have to be too accurate after all. Bit of prodding around and soon in hand. Smiled and the different intereptation of cash and dash as we walked past. |
... | RR032 | GL11NRBA9 | RR032 - Quite Near Olive | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Only recently revisited this, and managed to solve. Soon worked out what to do, but finding a plot wasn't so easy. In the end an iterative process trying the various options and looking for a plot that worked. Managed to discard a number of the options cos the numbers just did not work for the area it had to be in. At gz initially thankful all was dry, but it didn't matter anyway. Just adopted the prone position while the boss looked on. All good here. |
... | RR045 | GL11NRH5H | RR045 - Board Game 2 | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Used these before so new exactly what to do. Just had to find the start point and direction. Couple of things helped narrowed down the options. Where? Oh that. The thought of sticking it somewhere to repay all the angst of puzzle solving brought a smile. For that alone a fav. At gz went to the obvious and was disappointed. Like many of these puzzles you had to explore further and look at all the options. All good here. |
... | RR064 | GL11NR99C | RR064 - °Ré | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Not exactly the place for a C&D. We parked up the road a little. Only one place to look really, and a quick find. Solving this is a vague memory. Don't recall it being too difficult. Sure we used a different tool for the last bit, but it obviously worked. All good here. |
... | RR072X | GL11NTND5 | RR072 - Alpaca Triangles | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Understanding of Maths but still had to refresh, tax the brain, and used some calculators to get the answers. Learned about the gate from comments and the stile is now probably even worse. At gz had to be brave and venture in, and then a fairly quick find. All good here.

28 Jun 2020 | RR036 | GL11VY81T | RR036 - °De | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Out for some exercise today. Had this solved for a while as it's one the the early RR we did. Quick find at gz, although only at that level if you're kneeling down. |
... | RR037XX | GL11VY4F9 | RR037 - °Rø | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Out for some exercise today. This one of the earlier ones we solved. Had the right tools to do this, once we had found the coords of the starting point. Not the best of walks from the parking point as the field has been ploughed and sown to the edge. Only when we got here did we work out the it's much better to walk down the other side of the hedge where the footpath seems to have been unofficially moved to. Quick find at gz though. |
... | RR052X | GL11VD4N2 | RR052 - Keep Smiling | Didn't find it | WalfordEast | ???? Out to get some exercise today. One of the early ones we solved. Short notes so couldn't solve now without more work. At gz could see the obvious area as described. Couldn't find it though despite some serious digging around. Will wait until someone confirms it is still there before we try again. |
... | RR246 | GL11VY5PE | RR246 - The Nearest FarAway Place | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Out for some exercise today. Nice simple walk from RR37, and did not take long to find this with the help of the hint. |
... | RR248 | GL11VY6PR | RR248 - Schoolfrenz | Found it | WalfordEast | ???? Out for some exercise today. Nice simple walk, except there is no footpath diversion any more. Obvious location but it wasn't where expected. All the woodwork looked fairly new, and it's some time soince the last find. Eventually found it by casting around the area and replaced where it should be. |
... | RR249 | GL11VDET1 | RR249 - Thalamorph | Didn't find it | WalfordEast | ???? Out for some exercise today. We did find a hint item but looking at comments it might not even look like this any more. Had a good look around and under things but didn't come up with the goods. This might need a more sustained search. |
09 Jul 2020 | RR109X | GL11YQ5XN | RR109 - When I'm 64 ... | Didn't find it | EssieandtheBears | Pleased to have solved the puzzle as haven’t done many yet and my dad was a big fan of this group. Parked at nature reserve side and had a rather meandering walk to GZ. It’s been a wet, grey Thursday and didn’t see anyone until we got to where we wanted to search. Had a bit of a poke about as fisherman was really not interested in us, but couldn’t look as thoroughly as we’d of liked. There’s been lots of forestry work here recently, banks disturbed by heavy machinery and big branches cut off. I don’t think we will return to look again, but enjoyed the puzzle. |
15 Jul 2020 | RR270 | GL1214PYB | RR270 - Red Alert | Found it | gillywig | A helpful hint from another helped start. The hard work done I could not see what was obvious. Obviously not angry enough too see red.???? When I did, the last step was straightforward using something useful I had downloaded years ago. The find was not as quick as expected. In fact if I hadn't noted the size I would have given up. Once in hand, opened up and all is perfectly preserved inside. Signed log and replaced. Thanks Ray, it was a struggle |

We have looked at this puzzle many times over the intervening years. It looks simple. You are given a list of dates and you just have to put them in the right order.
We got a hint from Janechick (thanks) which we struggled to make sense of. Our fault not Js.
We arrived at the GZ today only to find that we had never got round to solving the location anagram. Found some good hiding places but no cache. We sat down at the bench to solve the anagram. That didn't take long given some good guesses and an online solver. The solution wasn't much help. It only confirmed we had been looking in the right sort of places. Back to the GZ and Mr J found the cache in a place that had already been checked! Phew! Pleased to have logged this one at long last. TFTC |

10 Sep 2020 | FP768 | GL12KW2AF | A Fine Pair # 768 ~ Great Totham | Found it | Denbymist | Collected the necessary last Monday, then some armchair calculating, came up with some co-ordinates that looked good, so put then in the checker and got a correct. The nice weather today enticed me out for a walk to include this one.

... | RR045 | GL12NZVHF | RR045 - Board Game 2 | Found it | Amberel | A while back I was browsing the map prior to a visit to the area, and saw a huge array of puzzles! I clicked on a few at random, but I’m not a very clever puzzle solver and I couldn’t see how to get started on any of them - until I got to this one :-)
It took quite a long time and required great concentration, but at least I could do it :-)
As it turned out I didn’t get here on that previous trip, but fortunately I had kept the solution as I’m now on another short visit.
As a previous log said, not in the obvious place, but I kept searching and eventually came up with the goods :-)
Thanks for the cache,
Rgds, Andy

An unusually straightforward puzzle from this CO. Not a subject I'm very good at but managed to find the relevant information.
I had already planned a visit to the area today so it was a rare opportunely to get a FTF on a Mr Crow cache. No problems at GZ
Being the first cache since the new 15th Sept hosting rules I think it deserves a favourite for patience and perseverance.

12 Oct 2020 | RR269 | GL12XPQYR | RR269 - Decade Decode | Found it | StratOman | Joint FTF Been battling with this since it's publication. With most of this CO's puzzles , getting started is often the hardest part and this one was no exception. But 17 months down the line the first "D" was cracked. So on to Decode, which did not prove too difficult as I still had a tool from a previous RR puzzle which should do the job. With a bit of reprogramming I started to decode, but only produced rubbish. Many hour of head scratching and recalculations followed to no avail. Then the penny dropped , code changed and out popped the coordinates. As Gillywig had also solved we decided to try for a joint FTF. This was a good move on my behalf as I think I would have gone home empty handed. TFTC and Favourite |

|
... | RR269 | GL12YCRMX | RR269 - Decade Decode | Found it | gillywig | I was beginning to think it could be a decade before this was solved, but then solves via the checker started to appear. The start was an issue but once started a little progress was made.
The second stage was proving a problem even with all the data in front of me. A conversation with StratOman clarified one aspect but my uncertainty prevented the necessary steps from being attempted.
When finally through the checker, we agreed that a joint attempt at finding was appropriate. Not only in regard to the collaboration but due to the previous dnf's.
As with any challenging cache I like to prepare fully. In this case it involved all the usual prep and a bit of history.
Meeting at an arranged place and time it was then a short walk to gz. A place I had visited not only many years ago but also fairly recently. A thorough search began and knowing the CO, there was little doubt regarding accurate coordinates. After some time we discussed why I was so sure of one aspect, and much to my caching companions surprise he learned something. Something he is particularly fond of doing!
Going home empty handed was becoming more and more likely, but it had to be where I had surmised and so I persevered, much longer than I would normally. Then to my surprise there was something which I was about to disregard but on closer inspection it had to be and was.
Great adventure and a great puzzle worthy of its difficultly on several levels.
TFTC&P the genius of it all warrants a favourite. |

26 Oct 2020 | CM570 | GL1318NBG | Church Micro 570...Tiptree - St Lukes | Found it | Dobunnis | {FTF} @ 7am Sometimes it just seems one is meant to find a cache. H was looking to see if there was anything en route to the east coast and spotted this one. Surprised it had not been found, she had a prod of possible coords and came up trumps (at least she hoped so) on the first look. Leaving early to beat the traffic, she arrived and parked up as directed. A few doggie muggles around but otherwise it was not too busy. Normally H has less problems with the solves but then cannot find the cache. Not so today as her suspicions on the coords were confirmed with her hand falling on the container the first place she put it. A nice clean logsheet to defile but she continued on, happy with her early mornings work TFTC, Helen and Carolyn |
... | CM570 | GL131EZWP | Church Micro 570...Tiptree - St Lukes | Found it | kareninwb | Sidsgranma and I had been in Tiptree yesterday and were aware of this recently released cache. ( I remember the previous CM here which I found back in 2011 ). We had no idea how to solve it and so after finding the Lab Cache bonus we set off for Clacton. Whilst there we thought about how to solve this and where the location might be. A few more thoughts about it today. We had a rough idea of what was needed but couldn’t find the ‘tools’ we needed.
Back in Tiptree today with a clearer idea of what was needed. Off to GZ and we realised where we needed to look. Cache found and pleased to add our names to the logsheet.
Thanks for the Church Micro hide, Mr Crow. Have a favourite point. |

28 Oct 2020 | CM570 | GL131RD12 | Church Micro 570...Tiptree - St Lukes | Found it | Kitty!! | Thought for a second we'd got to visit the church and would find the co-ords displayed on a wooden Hymn board! Ideal location for cache. Nicely concealed but still a quick find. TFTC Mr Crow |
... | FP768 | GL131QWW5 | A Fine Pair # 768 ~ Great Totham | Didn't find it | tyke | No luck with this one. I found all the clues but there's no village sign on the green. The coordinates took me to somewhere matching the hint but I failed at the essential bit. |
... | RR251 | GL131RK3C | RR251 - Doh! Ray? | Found it | grinning_buddha | My first guess about the key idea (C major, naturally, nothing accidental about this piece ) eventually turned out to be correct, but I had no notion of the next step and my attempts produced all kinds of discordant ciphers, so the puzzle went on the "strife and discord" pile. But seated one day at the keyboard I was weary and ill at ease, and my fingers wandered idly over the noisy keys. And an idea came to me. In fact you might say it struck a chord. It linked all perplexèd meanings and the coordinates fell into place in one perfect piece. Today, the rays of the vanishing sun flooded the crimson twilight and I sensed a harmonious echo from this simple GZ site. I sought, but not so vainly, and found that pot divine, which came from the soul of the puzzle and entered into mine. TFTC. (with apologies to Adelaide Anne Proctor ) |
... | RR277X | GL131PCPP | RR277 - Historical Heights | Found it | The Avenue Two | After collecting a few caches in Tiptree we made our way to GZ. for a nice quick find. Thank you Mr Crow for an interesting puzzle to solve. |
... | TTALC | GL131MMW8 | Tiptree Tour Adventure Lab Cache Bonus | Found it | greysman | Found the co-ords on Monday after completing the ALC. Took a stroll out to GZ this morning passing Avenue2 on the way who were just completing the last task. Got to GZ about 400m before them and had the container in hand and signed before they arrived. Good to meet you having seen many posts of yours, always good to put a face, or two, to a name. TFTC |
... | TTALC | GL131MNK7 | Tiptree Tour Adventure Lab Cache Bonus | Found it | The Avenue Two | We were approaching the first one when we spotted Rachelnredd ahead of us, so it was lovely to complete the walk together. They returned to their car while we continued on foot to GZ. Spot on coords led to GZ, then greysman appeared and handed Pete the cache to sign. We were chattering away when Rachel arrived to sign. A pleasure to meet greysman, and had enjoyable chat with him as we walked back to our car. Not often we bump into other cachers. Favourite point for the pleasure this gave us. Thank you Mr Crow for all your work. |
... | TTALC | GL131Q11C | Tiptree Tour Adventure Lab Cache Bonus | Found it | RachelnRedd | Having completed the adventure labs and acquired the bonus coordinates, I returned to my car to drive down to this one (note: this is not really necessary!) as I needed to make a prompt getaway. The Avenue Two continued on foot, and as I arrived at GZ I could see a congregation of (socially distant) cachers, as they had joined Greysman. Anyway, the cache was soon being signed by all. Thanks for placing the lab cache series and this bonus. |
... | TTALC | GL131RC45 | Tiptree Tour Adventure Lab Cache Bonus | Found it | Kitty!! | Completed the Tour/Adventure Lab yesterday. It was raining heavily by the time I finished so held off finding the bonus. Returned today and must have just missed the three other visitors - what a shame. Have a favourite for the excellent tour of Tiptree. TFTC Mr Crow |

... | TTALC | GL131Y2PB | Tiptree Tour Adventure Lab Cache Bonus | Found it | Doggywalker | A very damp day in Tiptree with afternoon tea planned once I'd done the Lab caches and found the bonus.
All went very smoothly and it was a good tour. I also did what others had done and drove to the final where I made a surprisingly quick find. Feeling and looking bedraggled I decided to give afternoon tea a miss and headed for home.
Thanks for the Labs and this bonus cache. |
30 Oct 2020 | RR278 | GL1322MEY | RR278 - Board Game 9 | Found it | Kitty!! | "Phew" sums it up nicely! Probably took a lot longer than it should as I only have a tiny laptop which isn't ideal for these board games! Took advantage of a rain free period today to have a long walk from home to this one. Nice location and hide. Have a favourite. TFTC Mr Crow |

... | LW2 | GL1327CNW | GC2 - George 1 | Found it | The Avenue Two | Continuing our walk through these lovely woods, we found where George had placed this one quite easily. We soon added our names to the log sheet and replaced for the next finder. We really liked the nice drawing of the ???????????? on the cache page and your hide. Thank you George. |
... | LW3 | GL1327JPY | GC3 - George 2 | Found it | The Avenue Two | We are sorry that our caching walk has come to an end with finding your 2nd well placed cache George. ... | LW4 | GL13279VM | GC4 - Rose 2 | Found it | The Avenue Two | Enjoying our caching walk through these lovely woods. Took a little while to locate where Rose had placed it, but very pleased to find the neat container and add our names to the log sheet. Thank you Rose. TNLN. |
... | RR278 | GL13271V4 | RR278 - Board Game 9 | Found it | The Avenue Two | Finally solved yesterday, with us both taking it in turns to avoid eye strain for amount of work involved. Large numbers of young Partridges and Pheasants on the approach road this morning. Spot on coords led to a swift find. Thank you Mr Crow for your work in adding another RR to the series. |
... | RR278 | GL1333NTW | RR278 - Board Game 9 | Found it | kareninwb | I hadn't received a notification for this puzzle (or in fact any geocaching emails). For some reason they had all ended up in my spam folder. Sidsganma brought it to my attention and when I opened the page I thought I might be able to manage it!!!!. Like others, I found the first 10 difference with ease but the other two were much harder. I wasn't expecting the next stage or how long it would take! Three hours on the second one and nine and a half on the third one. My eyes ached after that.
Having set off to Terling with Sidsgranma for a StratOman puzzle there. and completing the recently released Adventure Labs in Witham, we decided there was time to go and look for this one. Arrived at GZ and spotted the likely host. A few seconds later the container was found and we were signing the log. Now off to find a coffee somewhere whilst we still can!
Thanks for the puzzle and the hide, Mr Crow. Have a favourite point. |
01 Nov 2020 | RR271 | GL132TH8E | RR271 - Driving Test | Found it | grinning_buddha | I hate time trials, so this was a labour but eventually I mastered the weird dynamics of these vehicles - continuous acceleration (series-wound motor?), and remarkably good brakes.) I'd add to StratOman's advice "go in straight lines and be ready to hit the brakes" . Driving in a rather different style to a safe parking place not too near GZ and walking from there, I had no trouble in identifying the target and quickly crossed the line. TFTC |
... | RR277X | GL132THXT | RR277 - Historical Heights | Found it | grinning_buddha | With the generous hint it didn't take long to track down the relevant resource (very interesting and useful in its own right.) A knowledge of the CO's previous form meant it wasn't difficult to deduce what was needed, and coordinates were soon forthcoming.
A windy but not too wet GZ offered a couple of choices but it didn't take long to spot the container.
TFTC |
... | RR278 | GL132TE97 | RR278 - Board Game 9 | Found it | grinning_buddha | phew indeed. A puzzle where one thing led to another in a straightforward way, after the initial way in was revealed and the bluff called, but I didn't have the breath to spare to add my exhalation after the marathon cross-eyed solve. In contrast, GZ was a straightforward find with no need for the hint, and I even avoided getting rained on.

... | RR278 | GL132W2N7 | RR278 - Board Game 9 | Found it | StratOman | I have never been very good at spot the difference puzzles, and so no surprises when I got stuck after finding 10 of the differences. 03 Nov 2020 | CM570 | GL1330WKJ | Church Micro 570...Tiptree - St Lukes | Found it | Frantica | Thanks for a great puzzle and nice little cache hide. Fortunately very quiet around GZ this morning so a nice quick find with nobody around to spot what we were up to. TFTC |
... | TTALC | GL1330X9A | Tiptree Tour Adventure Lab Cache Bonus | Found it | Frantica | Great to have a bonus to complete the lab cache series. Luckily I had an ex cacher with me today so we both set to work at GZ. Many hands make light work and it wasn’t long before Jenni felt something move and realised she’s found the container. TFTC |
04 Nov 2020 | CM570 | GL133729H | Church Micro 570...Tiptree - St Lukes | Found it | jollyquest | With Lockdown 2.0 starting tomorrow we made the long journey to Crowland hoping to bag some more Rally Round caches. Thanks for the puzzle. |
... | RR141 | GL13372W8 | RR141 - Palettable | Didn't find it | jollyquest | Mr J had written a program to help analyse a different Rally Round (id withheld). It didn't get anywhere near solving that one. But soon afterwards he thought it might help with RR141. Indeed, without any alteration it led to a quick solve last week.
Everything seemed stacked against success today: - the locals don't like you parking near the obvious trailhead - the first field we crossed had only been ploughed today - the second field we crossed had beaters and people shooting - the cache hadn't been visited since January 2019
In case the shooters turned around and came back through the wood we didn't prolong the search. |
... | RR144 | GL133760J | RR144 - Oinkment | Found it | jollyquest | With Lockdown 2.0 starting tomorrow we made the long journey to Crowland hoping to bag some more Rally Round caches. This was another puzzle that we have tried a number of times over the years. Eventually turned to Ray for help, who pointed us to the resource we needed. Like bad workmen we blame the tools we had used, which just weren't up to the job. Relieved to have this one in the bag now. All good at the cache. |
... | RR184 | GL13373A5 | RR184 - Unobtainable | Didn't find it | jollyquest | We finally solved Unobtainable a week before Lockdown 1.0. We arrived the day before Lockdown 2.0 was scheduled. Just in time? This was one of our DNF's after a long walk from the car. At least the weather was fine for us. |
... | RR211 | GL133722W | RR211 - Exorcist | Found it | jollyquest | With Lockdown 2.0 starting tomorrow we made the long journey to Crowland hoping to bag some more Rally Round caches. This was our second attempt at this cache in Tiptree. Searched a different area and found the GZ quickly. Cache is in fine order. Thanks for the puzzle. |
... | RR266 | GL134V1K6 | RR266 - A-noun-cement | Found it | jollyquest | Other finders refer to 2 stages in the puzzle. We thought there were 3. Stage 1 we got through without too much problem. Stage 2 is where we got stuck for a year. Stage 3 was the enjoyable part producing the coordinates. Today we recognised some of the route from our first foray to Mr Crow's caches about eight years ago. We found an object in keeping with the cache theme, but no cache. Other likely spots were also searched, but no luck. Update 10/11/20After checking the GZ, Mr Crow has awarded us a technical find. THANKS |
... | RR269 | GL133580C | RR269 - Decade Decode | Found it | The Avenue Two | Our original thoughts weren’t that far out, but then put it on the to do pile. Many months later took another look and thought of a different idea which proved to be correct. On our way in the car to GZ we stopped and watched 2 Red Kites and 2 Buzzards on the thermals, giving magnificent views with the sun on them. At the point of giving up at GZ when on one more look, the well concealed hide was discovered. Thank you Mr Crow for an extremely well thought out puzzle. Favourite point added. |
... | RR269 | GL133748N | RR269 - Decade Decode | Didn't find it | jollyquest | With Lockdown 2.0 starting tomorrow we made the long journey to Crowland hoping to bag some more Rally Round caches. With 4 DNF's our geocaching skills escaped us this afternoon.
We did have the hint and we did know that it was going to be a sneaky hide. Had we been earlier we might have bumped into Avenue Two.
No excuses. The cache must have been there..... but where??? TFTC |
... | RR269 | GL1337D3N | RR269 - Decade Decode | Found it | grinning_buddha | In the course of solving this I revisited a great deal of long-forgotten electronics lore and obsolete device data sheets. It didn't help at all. Eventually I followed a different path which caused me to revisit something quite different and finally I was able to make sense of the puzzle. Having been caught out that way once before, I noted a subtlety in the data and didn't fall into the trap that seems to have beset some other solvers, and with a handy tool I had produced for a previous puzzle, I soon had coordinates.
In solving some other puzzles recently I seem to have run into rather a lot of jigsaw puzzles with all-but-random shapes, and the seasonal leaf-litter at GZ looked very much the same, so it was only after a good deal of searching on two visits that the well-concealed cache finally turned up and I was able to add my squiggle.

With 4 DNF's our geocaching skills escaped us this afternoon. One of the CO's easier puzzles. Mr J made light work of this puzzle. A quick find at GZ. Problems with blisters, Mr Crow? |

Mrs J. likes this kind of puzzle. Rare for a Mr Crow puzzle - you know at each stage what you have to do, and the clock isn't ticking against you.
A quick find at GZ ahead of Mr Crow's maintenance visit. FP awarded for this Rally Round. |

26 Nov 2020 | TTALC | GL13838H8 | Tiptree Tour Adventure Lab Cache Bonus | Found it | waggerswinners | Enjoyed the lab caches this morning, there was a delicious sweet smell of hot jam around the factory which was lovely. My grandmother was a keen jam maker and it brought back memories of her kitchen, back in the 70’s when I was a lad. Found quickly in the obvious cache but was initially outwitted by it as my fat sausage fingers struggled to gain access. Eventually found out that it was so easy to get to the log that I felt a bit silly. Not for the first time. Stamped the log with my new green waggerswinners stamp and replaced as found. I think this is the first Mr Crow mystery cache that I have managed to find????????????TFTC |

... | RR016 | GL139FF4V | RR016 - Rotator (2) | Found it | grinning_buddha | FTF A nice quick solution here, after reminding myself of the MO of its predecessor and modifying appropriately. The moral: always keep your notes! I arrived at GZ quite late in the day, with some apprehension that it would be under water, as there were some oversize puddles on the approach. Fortunately it was not, and after a little searching I had my hands on a blank log. Unfortunately they were cold wet hands, so the log may be a little blotchy for the next finder . TFTC. |

... | RR103 | GL139FFEY | RR103 - QRow (2) | Found it | grinning_buddha | FTF Another nice quick solution here, which didn't even need me to look up how its predecessor worked. I arrived at GZ quite late in the day, with some apprehension that it would be under water, as there were some oversize puddles on the approach. Fortunately it was not, but by the time I reached the target it was almost dark, and with quite a choice of hiding places I feared I wouldn't find my goal. Fortunately when approached from the right direction it was easy to spot and soon I had my hands on the third blank log of the day. TFTC. |
... | RR109 | GL139FFPE | RR109 - When I'm 64 ... (2) | Write note | grinning_buddha | Bad light stopped play. After three FTFs today I had no time or light left for this one, so it's still there for an early bird (I don't do early) tomorrow TFTC. |

... | RR016 | GL139M4AD | RR016 - Rotator (2) | Found it | gillywig | After abandoning the search nearby due to causing an obstruction, I arrived here. Rotator Humm? I suppose it does. pi/3? Glad to find quickly. I vaguely remember solving the original which I think had the same easy mo. SL thanks for the cache and puzzle. |
... | RR103 | GL139M6DG | RR103 - QRow (2) | Found it | gillywig | I had some concerns when I saw this. I was really and very happily surprised when it worked.
A return here was necesaary as I had been causing an obstruction earller. I wasn't 100% sure where to look but took a leap of faith and there it was.

... | RR109 | GL139JQC2 | RR109 - When I'm 64 ... (2) | Found it | mel-ray | Soon solved and off to get a FTF, nope Gillywig beat us to it. Took a little searching but soon had cache in hand. Nice to have bumped into the TA2. TFTC

... | RR109 | GL139K9P1 | RR109 - When I'm 64 ... (2) | Found it | gillywig | Well I am! At 64 I didn't expect to be where I was. Pacing from a nearby telegraph pole put me exactly where GE had indicated. It took a while to spot anything remotely fitting the hint and very un-Crow like. Nothing for it so wet knees and srcatched to pieces into the fray. No luck at first but a return and there it was.
SL FTF @11:10 TFTC.
ps When I'm older and 72 Eight years from now All I can hope is that I'll be as agile as you! |
... | RR109 | GL139KC9Y | RR109 - When I'm 64 ... (2) | Found it | The Avenue Two | We had hopes of a FTF but it was not to be, though nice to see Mel-ray. Thanks Mr Crow. |

... | RR016 | GL13A3QQ6 | RR016 - Rotator (2) | Found it | peegeenine | We arrived at GZ and started our search. We really think this has the correct name as we went round and round then eventually spotted it and wonder why it took so long. Signed log and replaced as found, TFTC |
... | RR103 | GL13A3F70 | RR103 - QRow (2) | Found it | StratOman | The new puzzle was much easier than it's predecessor once I had cracked the anagram At last , I found the cache immediately with spot on coords. TFTC |
... | RR103 | GL13A3QH0 | RR103 - QRow (2) | Found it | peegeenine | We have had a successful day so far although it is now really cold and visibility has deteriorated over the past 1/2hr so we are just going to pick up a couple more caches as we head home. A fairly quick find here, signed log, TFTC |
... | RR109 | GL13A3EG3 | RR109 - When I'm 64 ... (2) | Found it | StratOman | I really struggled with the first incarnation of this puzzle due partly to getting the right source material. Similar problems with this rebirth, but soon found what was needed. Which is more than can be said for the hide. I could see what looked like the host, but didn't fancy my journey to it on this cold wet December morning. After the first abortive attempt I PAF to check I was in the correct place. Unfortunately I was, so back on all fours again, this time found the little blighter. When I return to the car I noticed about 30 sheep had congregated by the fence to watch what I had been doing. They must think humans are mad !! TFTC |
... | RR109 | GL13A3W9M | RR109 - When I'm 64 ... (2) | Found it | peegeenine | Our last cache for today and probably the hardest to locate but eventually we got it, signed log and replaced as found, TFTC |
... | RR252 | GL13A3JXC | RR252 - The End of Grahams | Found it | peegeenine | We had decided yesterday that we would go out for a drive and see if we could pick up a couple of solved puzzles. When we got up we wondered if we had made the correct decision when we saw the weather but decided to go for it as we really needed up exercise and fresh air. This was the first cache that we attempted and was lucky to have a quick find at GZ. We signed the log and replaced as found, TFTC |
... | RR278 | GL13A3K9C | RR278 - Board Game 9 | Found it | peegeenine | 2nd cache on our list to pick up today. While walking to this one the sun was trying really hard to show its face but try as it did it was not successful and in fact as the day progressed it got even colder. Once at GZ it was a very quick find, signed log, TFTC |
10 Dec 2020 | RR016 | GL13AE4FG | RR016 - Rotator (2) | Found it | The Avenue Two | Having completed our outstanding caches in Maldon we made our way here. Traffic was extremely bad due to a bus blocking the roundabout with police directing the traffic.

... | RR016 | GL13C6RYC | RR016 - Rotator (2) | Found it | kareninwb | Another familiar MO having solved the original one just over 5 years ago. Off to look for it today. Spotting the likely hiding place and fortunately something caught my eye. Pleased to discover the cache,
Thanks for the hide, Mr Crow. |
... | RR103 | GL13C6RE2 | RR103 - QRow (2) | Found it | kareninwb | I remember the previous Rally Round cache that was based on the same premise so I knew what to do here. It still took a while to get everything just where it needed to be.
Having solved the three new RR caches I went in search of them this afternoon. Pouring with rain and slippery at GZ but fortunately the cache was soon found and the log signed.
Thanks for the hide, Mr Crow and Happy Christmas! |
... | RR109 | GL13C6TPF | RR109 - When I'm 64 ... (2) | Found it | kareninwb | This was the easiest (that's if and RR ca be considered easy) of the revamped RRs. Arrived at GZ ad when I saw when the cache was likely to be found I was glad I wasn't looking for it on the way to work.
I'm not as agile as the CO and so a hands and knees approach was required. It was raining and I could feel the water seeping through my jeans as I got closer. Struggled to open the container but got there in the end. Signed the log and 'backed' out. I had to repeat the retrieval procedure in order to retrieve my car keys as I'd put them on the ground when I was signing the log!
Thanks for the hide, Mr Crow. |
