Apologies for nicking your hide. It's such a great place for a cache I couldn't resist it.

Found 3 Schoolfrenz caches earlier on and Schoolfrenz happened to mention to Jess that this one was pink. As we headed up the footpath Little One linked arms with me and said "I don't like to admit this - but I am excited about this one!" (Yah - knew she liked caching really!) And Oh My was this pink and Oh did it have some good trades for a mini-cacher. Voted as best cache of the morning by Jess as 1. there was no mud, 2. the cache was very pink, 3. it was a short but pleasant stroll to the hide and 4. lots of trades. Picked up a TB to drop off at Essex Meet No 7. And then off we headed to the Jam Factory for Hot Chocolate where Little One explained her ideas for some new caches by Bunny Ears! TFTExcellentC

Spent a reasonable amoint of time looking for this one. Got there in the end though. Taken TB, sorry our tradeables are a bit large for the cache. TFTC :-)

I think Mel & Ray's swift find was a truly remarkable perfomance on what I thought was my toughest RR puzzle to-date. WELL DONE.

Had a look at the site at 10pm and saw a new RR cache released. Quickly solved by B. The Geochecker indicated another cacher had already solved the puzzle so thought we would go and have a look just in case. Well done to Mel and Ray.

Schoolfrenz is bemused again at such puzzling expertise. Well Done H&B.

Found the Schoolfrenz cache up the road with Jess and Schoolfrenz himself. Jess had, yet again, developed blister issues (must get her some decent socks!) and a debate ensued as to whether or not it was wise to carry on and find this one. Schoolfrenz shook his head and warned of dire mud issues. Jess gave me the look that said "lets go home"! However, having an extremely optimistic disposition(!!), could think of nothing better than to plod onwards!

And yes, there was mud! But rather than make for an unpleasant arduous walk it caused much hilarity - especialy with Jess as she carried half the field up to the cache with her! What joy to have a little one smiling whilst caching (see photos!) you couldn't ask for more.

Yet again a fun puzzle, great cache, brilliant walk in the best of company and a first rate novel that is well worth a read.

My error back in December was due to adding hydrant numbers to the coordinates for start of footpath instead of puzzle coordinates! Doh! However, glad to revisit today as Jess agreed to join me (nothing, I am sure, to do with the a visit to the "Crows Nest" and refreshments thereafter!) Schoolfrenz joined us on the short and pleasant walk up to the cache - which Jess found.

Decided to take a brisk walk after work with the doggies to grab this cache, It was very dark and a little eerie with just the traffic headlights overlooking the fields. Didnt get to see much of the river as it was pitch black at GZ. Nice swift find, Jen loves the container! I see some familiar faces have been here today.....I wonder who got a ftf today as we see this pair are gallivanting again on a week day???? Gilly wasn't very wide awake this morning, after another very late night in the busy pub. Eyes not working and grunts the only form of communication! Putting the kettle on and booting up the laptop, suddenly awakened by the prospect of a new Rally Round cache. On full alert now! Opening the cache page, realise that it's a job for the sexy,new Christmas wireless printer. Grahame was suitably impressed with the fact that I could find a known point on the map straight away and from then on it was a case of navigating backwards and forwards until we had a meeting of pencil lines. Another monumental cache ..... loved the cool chicken! Our chickens are now asking for cool shades!

Had good fun solving this puzzle. We meant to find this at the start of our walk after the bonus cache, but the obvious path between the two obviously wasn't and we couldn't get near. So once back at the car we took another path and cache soon found. Took keyring left Bertie Bear TB TFTC

We started our walk by parking near the church and went along to this one first. The cache is wet inside so we emptied the water out but the log was diffricult to write on. TFTC

We approached this from the south as we had worked out a walk incorporating these and other caches, so we walked past some of the multis first without knowing where they were. This was a quick find and nice and dry inside. Numbers noted. TFTC

We nearly had a right disaster here! I hadn't been able to solve the puzzle, so last night when we decided to do this series I showed Mr Stones who knew what to do in an instant. We then quickly had the coords. Today after finding no 3, I knew this was a bit further along the path as I had marked it on my map, but I hadn't written the coords we had just worked out on my master list and the workings out were in the car So we walked along a bit and started looking for telltale signs and the hiding place was soon spotted! TFTC

This took us longer to find than it should have done. We saw an obvious place but then had to go a different way round to reach it. When we got there we had a good look but couldn't find anything so we went back round the other way but there were no obvious hiding places there. Finally we decided it must be at the first place we looked and Mr Stones went straight to it - Doh! TFTC

This was one of Schoolfrenz more frustrating puzzles at the time. An FTF opportunity missed having been out of the blocks and at the very last corner in less than 24 hours only to spin off and get stuck in the gravel trap - and all Schoolfrenz could do was chortle from the roadside. The gravel was eventually cleared and it's only now that I'm limping across the finish line with a really rather splendid walk out to the cache.
The experience did make RR45 a doddle as well as a feeling of "if only I'd thought of that last time!"

A nice easy find for this one but then I knew exactly where to look having discovered MelRay searching for it on one of the Leg-ability challenges in July last year. The location was considerably sparser at this time of year and easy to spot if you know what you're looking for. The log is a little worn and has got wet at sometime in the past and wouldn't stay in the cap so replacing the container was a two handed affair.

Another walk revisited and yet again I made the same mistake of trying to access via the "yard". Having sloshed through the mud, I realised the mistake and retraced steps back to the correct starting point. Another exposed cache but I suspect this walk is one of those "less travelled by" byways. Again another log that was little damp and looking a little tired.

Having been forewarned by the WW's log of the advance gadgetry they used, I did some homework and invented a letter counting machine especially for the task. A very pleasant walk around the grounds looking for the clues and noting the use the whole community makes of the facilities. Today was boys football on one part, dog training classes on an adjacent plot and occasionally the exciting interaction between the two. My non-local status was immediately noticed and 2 of the doggie experts were kind enough to point out two of the clues I required.
The hamster powered counter was soon fed the information, the button pressed and after much whirring and clicking out came a dubious solution. A re-check of the cache page and reversal of a couple of cogs, button pressed more whirring, clicking and again another dubious solution.
It is amazing how even if you've written down the correct inscription your mind takes over and you put in what you think it should be rather that what it is. A correction of an 'of' to 'at' and the correct solution was in hand.
A rather muddy walk to the cache and I was signing the rain spattered log.

Almost came a cropper on this one as the GPS was pointing off the path and I realised I'd not solved the anagram for this one or rather I'd not brought it with me if I did. The last of the Rally Rounds for me today and the muddiest walk of the day - I do hate the way that horseriders can wantonly destroy a footpath/bridleway for the pedestrians who have to follow them. It was a case of either walking through the crops or through the hedge to avoid the ankle deep mud in places.
A rather splendidly large cache was the prize at the end and then back through the Somme!

When I did a pocket query last night as we were coming to the area, I noticed this new one so quickly solved. We decided to come along here first before our walk to see if we could be first to find and got here at 9.30. As there was a very large obstacle in front of the cache Mr Stones volunteered to go and look but he could not find it. So we went on our walk and came back again at the end. This time I braved the obstacle and found the cache within seconds! Unfortunately by now it had been McWombled (he is obviously very brave as well!) So the question is had McWomble already found it by 9.30am or did Mr Stones lose us a FTF!! TFTC - a fun puzzle to solve

Arrived back home last night after a pleasant afternoon at the District ringers annual meeting followed by a more pleasant pint at the Rodney in Little Baddow, to discover a new Rally Round puzzle published. The solution was quickly solved and it seemed rude not to spend the morning at least catching up on the remaining missing Rally Round puzzles - the alarm clock was set!
Sorry to report to the Stones that you missed me by about an hour - I was breaking the ice on this one so to speak at about 0830 after an "interesting" drive in on obviously un-salted roads.

Started to look for this 2 weeks ago in the dark with the aid of my car Sat Nav as my gps had just died whilst searching for another cache. The Sat Nav took me to somewhere at least quarter of a mile away where I spent the best part of half an hour searching. Straight forward find today although lots of flood warter about so glad of wellies. TNLN TFTC

Note to future cachers. Having tried both the east parking is better than the west although a little further from gz.

Attempted this a couple of weeks ago when gates were open. Found all clues but one but unfortunately gps packed up. Returned today but gates locked and reluctant to climb over. Made a guess at missing number and spent about half an hour searching with no success. On returning home and using geochecker it appears I was completely in the wrong place!!

Dropped in the Highly Addictive Geocoin #3 with a severed finger. They don't have to stay together, but I thought they made an interesting combo.

B has been sat in his office for the last 30 consecutive very long days. With the last tax return filed late last night what better way to spend today than caching. Having not used the legs for a month we needed a walk that was not too long but would give us a little stretch, and not too far from home to get back for the playschool pickup, this series seemed to fit the bill.

Bit of a challenge to find the first clues as the hedge is rather over grown at the moment. First cache nice quick find - good start.

Yet another challenge. The manhole cover was smashed and chucked down its hole. After a bit of neck stretching we managed to decipher the needed numbers.
Cache quickly located after an extremely muddy walk across the ploughed field.

This had been suppossed to be a gentle walk to get back into the swing of caching, it appeared to be throwing a lot of challenges. Here we found a field full of VERY frisky horses, which we did not fancy trying to pass through. We saw a footpath further along and hoped it was the other side of the field, it was, but it was in the field still not out, so keeping very close to the fence we walked through a lot more bog around the edge keeping an eye on the horses guarding the gate opposite. Fortunately they stayed at the other side and we found the cache quickly.

What a day to chose to walk along the sea wall - with gusts of wind up to 39 mph! However, managed to keep the log sheet in my paws and return cache safely to its excellent hidey hole. TFTC

Solved the anagrams but none the wiser. Looking at those numbers is just giving me a headache!

Does this cache require web manipulation of any sort? If so, please let me know. The characters are so small, I can't see what I'm doing.

Finally worked this one out today at work. As usual I was thinking way too hard about it, it really isn't that hard.

The retrieve was easy as the hint was spot on! I was glad to see an empty log sheet before me.

Certainly a memorable cache and well worth the effort and it gets a favourite from me!

I'm rubbish at puzzles, and I've been looking at this one for a week or so, scratching my head. In the end, I was given a helpful prod in the right direction, and then it was "easy". The find itself was straightforward, but getting the co-ords in the first place was a little more difficult!
I should also have anticipated more mud on the ground - my trainers are now in a bit of a state, but who cares? Another one in the bag! Thanks Kitty and Schoolfrenz for an excuse to get out for a walk while the sun was out.... Now home in time to watch the rugby on the telly

FTF. After caching with mel-ray in the area recently, I spotted a large number of puzzle caches on the map not far away. I had in fact noticed the Schoolfrenz caches before, but they seemed too far out of my area. Over the past week or so, I solved a few of the RR puzzles and was thinking about a trip to the area to log the caches. When I saw this new one pop up, I had the right idea very early on, as I had encountered something similar in another puzzle before. There was a bit of an extra twist here however, but the tools I still had on my computer from solving the other puzzle proved to be useful nevertheless. Thought I had a good chance to score FTF despite the distance, so I didn't want to wait until I had plotted out the other solved RR puzzles, and came here right away. Cache is well tucked away, took me a few attempts to exclude the wrong options. Good hide, and very nice, tricky puzzle, Thank you! Look forward to finding more of your caches.

We parked up by the church at Great Bradley and very quickly collected all the answers needed. We then set out along the footpaths in the bright sunshine to head for the cache. Along the way we watched a buzzard fly out from some woods and fly around for a while. Soon enough we reached the lovely spot where the cache was hidden, a great little patch. We hunted around for a while here, though we were quite sure where the cache would be. Finally we spotted it, very well tucked away.

From here we continued on to walk around Cobblers 5k Walk.

Arrived home in the wee small hours from another long weekend of umpiring - this time the Scottish Senior Championships - to discover a new RR cache has been published. A very swift solution followed so I thought "what the heck" another hour up wont matter. A quick find at the GZ - the footprints and flattened grass were an indication I wasn't FTF and sure enough G.O.Cash had got there first.

This was a nice little hide after solving the anagram and getting a little help from a friend.
We would have not been able to spot this one. I will have to dot this one down for the future.
Enjoyed the walk around the dam and spotted lots of possibilities matching the hint, but all for nothing.
This cache is almost on our backdoor and it took someone from London to get a FTF.

I rather bundled my way to the co ords to this one.

I'm still not sure how i did it but it took about an hour of intense thought before I got to the next stage, so to speak. Even with this part complete, it still took me quite a while to get the correct co ords...Google Earth confirmed the position before i left and it looked pretty good and as it turned out, it was!

The cache find it very easy once you have the correct co ords, the hard part is obtaining them!

Trying to spot a way into RR51 this cache page open also. Getting nowhere I thought try 'it' on Wobderful ... U never know. Seconds later a plausible gz.
Arrived today, a wet gloomy Saturday, Gilly went left I went right and quickly found. SL took Sharpner/rubber left tape measure. TF 'the' Woberful C. Highlight of the day.

Mr Crow recently commented that he had noticed Kitty hadn't found a significant No of his Rally Round caches and that she ought to put that right. LOL - Kitty has picked off the 'easy' ones and had just about come to a grinding halt! Nonetheless I was passing this area tonight so thought I'd pick off another easy one - but what it lacked in the difficulty stakes it made up for in the retrieval lake! Nice location - for ducks! LOL re Kitty's log. On Friday when I went past the approach "puddle" was so deep there were ducks swimming in it. Very comical.

Hmm ... the stile at GZ has been replaced by a kissing gate and no sign of the cache.
I've found a new hiding place and will replace as soon as I can.

An easy cache if you can manipulate the webpage to actually show the route! Sadly, I can't.

Rather nice spot in beautiful location next to and old disused railway line.Took ages to find the last clue but Hawkeye French boy came up with the goods.
There is a Monastery in the same road and we had to swerve around a couple of Black swathed Monks , Spookey!! or what, I waved to one and he gave me a sign , extra spookey !!
Went to GZ after around half an hour and found the area was the site of the Tolleshunt Knight chainsaw massacre.
Polly found a mangled box of tricks but still dry.
As Schoolfriends had made us work so blooming hard I suggested we replace it somewhere else and give him hard clues to get it back, course this is the sort of stuff Scarecrows do in-it ? But NO all the other do gooders in my group said boreing NO !! Doh !!

Collected the clues, some very cunning, and made off to GZ. My fellow cachers Polly Styrene, Frenchgirl & Scarecrow Rog were ahead of me and suddenly Polly exclaimed "I don't believe it !" And there was poor Ray's new pot shredded to bits by a chainsaw as it appears GZ finally crumbled sometime recently and had been partially tidied up. Have sent Email to CO. TFTC though

Weather much more suitable for a long cache trek today; very spring like; glad I put my walking boots in; with hindsight wellies would have been better. Easy find; bag split and cache had spilled out. tried to leave it with more cover. SL TFTC

Solved this cute little puzzle when it first came out but for some reason we have not been to the area recently so tonight we thought we would take a trip out and find a couple from our ever growing pile of solved caches. Thankfully Jen had donned the wellies as the puddle was like a small lake. Cache was soon in hand and had nice clean wellies at the end of it. We always thought this was a nice spot so it was nice for it to get a cache too!! TFTC

Before I start this log, I would like to put on record that Kitty openly admits that the bird's brain is superior to the fluff that fills Kitty's cranium. BUT ...

Mr Crow recently lamented how few Rally Rounds Kitty had found. The difficulty levels and fluff factor could not, however, explain why Kitty hadn't embarked on this early Rally Round puzzle with only a difficulty 2 rating. Surely, Mr Crow thought, EVEN Fluffy could manage this one?

And so it came to pass that Kitty broached the fact that she thought Mr Crow's puzzle was flawed ! Oh you might very well wince at the idea of the Kitty suggesting such a thing to Mr Crow! I too wince as I remember Mr Crow glaring down his beak at me. (Ouch!) But, in for a penny ...

So Kitty explained that Mr Crow's instructions simply did not work (for her) and not wanting to appear a fluff brain referred Mr Crow to some difficulties logged by previous cachers. Fluffy didn't notice the wounded look turn to a grimace and unperturbed continued to substantiate her theory - ie there had only been 8 finds in a two year period. For a level 2 puzzle in the countryside might this not indicate an incey wincey problem? Strangely, Mr Crow did not seem impressed by the Fluffy concept and benevolently offered a herringbone tutorial!

The Crow and the Kitty were agreed that a certain point can be reached on the map that is fairly obvious. And then the 'problem' manifests iteslf. The rules state "ignore road on the right". DOH!! Fluffy thought "ignore road on right" meant "Dont turn right - carry on". Fluffy didnt realise "ignore road on right" should be interpreted as "Turn left when there is a turning on the right".

Having sorted out the rules I set off to find the cache this morning for my 950th. A very lovely walk to a pretty location and well placed cache. Cache in perfect condition - as you would expect of a Schoolfrenz cache. A puzzle well worth solving and a caching visit. I hope that a further 326 days don't elapse 'til the next finder as it deserves many visitors.

Wondered what we would find here - overheard a conversation between the Water Bailiff and a fisherman. If I heard correctly it costs £28.00 to catch 3 fish, must be cheaper in Sainsburys, and you must not return Pike, obviously a little prejudice going on! TFTC x x

Lovely caravan for sale here and only £995, sent my son a picture and said it would solve his housing problem, his reply was not polite so seems we will have to put up with him for a bit longer! TFTC x x

#1697 Anybody brave enough to attempt laying a Wherigo deserves a favourite point in my view. Mrs GS and I really enjoyed finding this one and are looking forward to finding more in the future, keep 'em coming Schoolfrenz. I'm having a go at putting one of these together myself so I know how much time and effort goes into laying these caches, well done. Just a bit of feedback, I found it using my Oregon 450T and as I discovered, you have to click "OK" before you exit a zone otherwise you can't see the next one, and one thing that would help is to mention the next zone name in the text so you know which one to select, hope this helps, finding this cache has certainly helped me have a better understanding of how to put together a wherigo cache. Moving on TB to take to this weeks Essex Event cache. Thanks again for a great cache.

I was going to do your new series but thought I didn't have the time. So I opted for this 'shorter series', I hadn't done any prep. Had I realised this was such a long series I probably wouldn't have started it but I'm glad I did.

This one took a little time due to several muggle dog walkers.

The GPS was pointing 20+ ft away. Eventually I made the find. I'm not making a good start to this series.

Really great to have been so close to West Mersea. We used to go there as kids with my Mum. I'm currently taking a career break after losing my mum and my best mate at work to cancer last year. It's great to cache so close to such a special place in my life.

After thinking a couple of twitchers were cachers it turns out they're not, no one has signed the log book.

So many places it could be. Couldn't find it. Decided I would use the clue eventually and as I went to work it out I spotted the cache.

I'm done, wahoo. I took the wrong path of course and had to turn back. Eventually I made it here. It's been a lovely afternoon, much longer than expected at 5 hours 49 minutes but I found every one, not bad as I was on my own. The farmer is cutting turf. No worries I take a seat and sign the log.

Getting close to the end.

I used the clue and it caused me to waste loads of time. I found the full size cache after about 15 mins.

Found it easily, it was in full view. Didn't realise I was supposed to get a clue here until it was too late. No worries I have to come by again.

Second time round I added the code to the log sheet.

The tide is starting to come in. Loads of geese around guarding this cache.

I'm getting used to where these will be. Calculating the coords though is taking time, I'm glad it's not windy or raining otherwise my sheet would have fallen apart by now.

I'm ignoring the clues, they're not making it any easier.

The reason for the OK is that (because of the simple way I've designed the cartridge) some kind of input is required by the cacher to force them to read the instruction. If not, the message would be immediately replaced by the next Wherigo statement.
If you need any help with a Wherigo I may be able to assist as I went through a steep learning curve to create my first.

Sounds like gps may not be required! Suits us sir!

Definitely the largest cache we have ever come across with a great selection of goodies inside. Took a scouting TB and dropped off Ziggy TB. Now we have this reference we won't get lost finding this location in future! The Crow was at home and a welcome coffee provided. Crow (aka Schoolfrenz) had been trying for a long while to get us to do some of his caches, and with this month's Essex Meet such a long way from or home, had kindly offered a space in the nest for the night pluus the promise of a great day's caching. (The Great Braxted Wall series followed by Tollesbury Wick Marshes series). SL. TFTC.

Having limbered up on the Great Braxted Wall series we were off in the company of Schoolfrenz who has been trying for a long while to persuade us to do some of his caches. Completion of this walk would bring our total of caches for the day up to 26 - a good haul before relaxing at the Essex Meet in Westcliff-on-Sea. Cache not exactly where it said it would be but we had no probs finding it. SL. TFTC

Good coords and hint meant a quick find. Full log magically replaced by a hovering Schoolfrenz who was overseeing our progress. SL. TFTC

Didn't realise Schoolfrenz' shoulders were THAT high - very strange! Found this after short search before proceeding to the sea wall. SL. TFTC

The colour grey was how you would describe the view from the sea wall. The horizon shrouded with cloud merging sea to sky and Brrrrr it was chilly, but undaunted, we set off at a good pace (probably slow by Schoolfrenz; standards, and soon had the nano in our hands. SL. TFTC

The sound of silence was broken only by the cries of the seagulls and larks hovering in the gloom overhead, and the tramp of boots along the path. No probs locating this one. SL. TFTC.

Rumour has it that there were originally three posts here....Spied a solitary egret as we were signing the log. TFTC.

Exactly where it said (clever litle things these magnetic nanos.......) so quick find and off at a manic pace. (Schoolfrenz is hard to keep up with!) We were treated to a flypast of Brent Geese in perfect V formation. SL TFTC

Up until this point we had been listening to the cries of many different species of birds (unidentifiable with out binoculars which we had forgotten to bring, and peobablt unidentifiable by us even if we had!) . As soon as we opened the gate and entered the Nature Reserve all went silent - very eerie! Found the cache with no problems. SL. TFTC

Found the cache with no problems then between us managed to drop the pesky little thing into the long grass - Oh Joy! Eventually recovered it, SL and strode on to the next. TFTC.

All along this section of the wall we noticed the shells, 'wall to wall' shells - amazing. Another quick find. SL. TFTC

Thought we'd lost Schoolfrenz here, but no, he was actually behind us - how could that possibly be? Another nice quick find followed by the usual lengthy log-rolling exercise! Meanwhile Schoolfrenz held open the gate for the solitary jogging muggle spotted on the entire route. SL. TFTC

A SEAT - if we had brought any lunch we could have stopped and SAT DOWN.. but we hadn't and Schoolfrenz was off into the distance! And then Rallisalli had to run back to get the last bit of info to be able to find the Bonus cache - Bother! SL. TFTC

Could have done with a dyke-jumping pole here but we reached GZ without too much trouble. However, if Schoolfrenz hadn't been hovering nearby we would have had to log this as a DNF as the nano had gone. A replacement was handed over and we signed the log, got Schoolfrenz to roll it up and we returned it to its hiding place. Does Schoolfrenz realise that this is actually the thirteenth cache on this walk? TFTC

Okay Schoolfrenz, you said I wasn't to copy and paste any of my logs, so just to amuse/annoy you I've done it here because I couldn't sit down and havew a rest! This is it and if we had brought lunch, no doubt we would have had to eat it on the move!! This is it.....

Nearing the end of the walk we could just make out the silhouettes of boats of all shapes and sizes in the grey gloom that had descended all day. Found the cache with no problem and listened to the cries of the gulls and the tinkling sound of the rigging on the pasts.as we made our way to the last three caches on this lovel;y walk. SL. TFTC.

We passed ANOTHER SEAT on a way to this one. A welcome pair of leather-gloved hands parted the clump of ssstingers so that we could retreive this one without injury! Visitors here later in the year will need even more protection. SL. TFTC

Hawkeye homed straight in to this one despite being advised it was tricky to find - nahnahnenahnah! SL and on to the final, Bonus, cache. TFTC

Schoolfrenz himself, accompanied us today and no, he didn't show us all the locations!). the only problem we had on this pleasant walk was keeping up with the man himself! Homed in on GZ and the cache was soon in our hands. It was here I was told in no uncertain terms, NOT to copy and paste our logs.....- message received and understood! SL. TFTC

.We need to reiterate that no-one need be put off this great series just because it involves puzzle solving. Getting the coordinates from the micros is a doddle, and the way it is set out means that the there and back walk does not feel repetitive.We enjoyed it a lot. SL. TFTC

As you walk alongside the wall you can't help thinking about how long it must have taken to build it, and also how amazing that it has lasted so long with generally little maintenance (or so it appears. Took us a little longer to find the location of this cache as the GPS was all over the place. SL. TFTC

A really great series to do and the puzzle solving is a doddle. so if you're reading this log DON't BE PUT OFF by the ??????s as the walk is great. This cache contained a TB from Malta that's been wandering around since 2006 and has been stuck in this cache since August - criminal! SL TFTC.

And finally - the last cache for the day before the Essex Meet in Westcliff-on-Sea, and as a special treat, Schoolfrenz rolled up the log for us. Despite the rapid pace, (probably just as well as there had been a biting wind all day), we had thoroughly enjoyed our walk, and the company of course. Just one comment Schooolfrenz, if you write 'Nanotastic' or 'Cachetastic' one more time...........!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH for a great day out.

A somewhat larger Crow chirped in our ear to help us find this bonus cache as we are cheepskates (misspelling intentional) and don't own an all-singing-n-dancing fancy GPS. SL. TFTC

Finally plucked up courage to start solving Schoolfrtenz' puzzle caches. Having experienced his tinternet able top rallies last year I felt better euipped to have a go. Really enjoyed the Sudoku. Finding the hydrant was no problem and we set off to find this and Rally Round 2. Lovely walk in the woods serenaded by songbirds in Spring mode. Quick find and dropped off 'The Good Soldier Svejk' who is a long way from his destination! SL. TFTC

Didn't take too long to extract the coordinates for this cache. Having found Pups and Jugs Present and Rally ROund 1 we carried on to complete the caches in this area.Birds were singing as we made our way to GZ and along part of the route the lyrics of Flanders and Swan's 'Hippopotamus Song' sprang to mind! Found the cache after a short search, signed lthe og and returned along the track meeting a mauggle in a van arriving to check that his water tower was still there - it is. TFTC.

No problems solving this one - after all we are of the age when we did all our maths with figures like this, writing with a stylus on a wax on tablet......! The route to GZ was a bit trickier - the ground having been affected by what looked as if a herd of horses had recently passed by. Finding the cache was a bit trickier than previous finds too - it was well cmouflaged. Sl. TFTC

Almost got it right first time and after a glass oif good red wine it was in the bag! 'Sucess' Really enjoyed this puzzle and the smug feeling of satisfaction afterwartds! A really quick find rounded off this enjoble challenge. A bit of advice for future cachgers who are going on to find Rally Round 7 is to return the way you came and past the designated parking area. We made the mistake of carrying on in the direction we had been going and found the road to be very busy with traffic. SL. TFTC

My experience of internet Table top rallies helped me solve this one otherwise I think I'd have bee up that creek without a paddle! GZ was spot on so we were soon on our way back to the parking spot. A bit of sdvice for future visitors is to arrive at this cache from Rally Round 6 back along the footpath from 6 and past the pdesignated parking spot. We made the mistake of continuing along the path in a SW direction and walking down the very busy road to the crossroads where we turned left. SL. TFTC

In affectionate memory of Jim Duff, gentleman, the epitome of "the spirit of curling" and all round good-egg, who lost his very private battle with cancer this morning. I received the news on the walk out to the cache. RIP Jim.

An ingenious little cache which I glanced at when it was first published but didnt really look at until Tuesday this week. The crux of the puzzle was resolved over a lunch hour but the finer points took another hour in the evening to resolve. Then came the finger nail chewing - would someone else nearer solve it before the weekend?
The walk to the cache was in glorious sunshine and after a couple of false starts the cache was soon in hand along with a blank log book.

Guessed the location and hoping that the pattern will be similar for the remaing puzzle caches? Took the opportunity to picnic. Tide very high which changes the look of the area tremendously. Took the key ring and left a quarter dollar. TFTC

Worked out the rough location from a distance but for the wrong reasons. In the end Mrs C'dog spotted the hiding place. TFTC

Log book is full, with only a little space around the edge.

Located the cache as expected, outside was soaking but nothing had penetrated the container. TFTC

Worked out location spot on. Checked and code was marked on the log. TFTC

Worked out co-ords and decided to make this the last Maxi of the day. Cache was totally exposed but fully intact. Replaced it into likely hiding place. Forgot to look to see whether the code was there or not. TFTC

Used clue and previous logs but to no avail. Would have spent longer but still had a fair way to go before the light failed, so gave up and moved on.

At home I have a folder containing schoolfrenz puzzles, some solved more unsolved. I thought it was about time I came and found some of the solved ones before they disappeared! tftc

Solved the puzzle really quickly back in November, then spent 40 minutes looking to no avail. Rather predictably, as I decided to return for another look today, I found the cache inside 30 seconds! Strange but true!

Solved the puzzle ages ago. Found on my first day of doing schoolfrenz caches. tftc

Set off on the second loop after lunch. Found the clue and cache managed to get caught up in tree. tftc

A bit tricky to see the number through the undergrowth. Soon worked out the co-ordinates and found the cache. Log was very wet. tftc

Made the same mistake as helennbrian. Once had the information it was a quick find. tftc

Clue was harder to find than the cache. Had'nt read the logs. tftc

No problems here, horses were calm today. Soon found cache. tftc

finding the micros was fun went from very hard to medium to easy
but a very nice walk none the less
once we had all the numbers sat down for lunch in the sunshine and sorted them out
soon had 6 sets of flags plotted
so on with the trip
the 1st one cache # 2 was hidden right next to where we had lunch
wen we got to this one we knew we were nearly at the end
just b4 we got to GZ Shadow came running out of the trees with a full grown live kicking pheasant in her mouth
after a little persuasion we manage to get her to drop and the poor bird went squawking off at speed into the woods
well that was a bit of excitment lol what ever next
anyway another cache to find n Steff finally finds one
this container has a split in it but other wise all ok

This was way out of our way, but have been wanting to do this for quite some time.
Enjoyed the walk on this chilly morning.
Out today for a drive through the country doing a bit of traditional, multi, puzzle, virtual, earth, wherigo, driveby, short walk, small series and church micro caching, something of everything, making Saffron Walden a turning point before heading home. We had a good day today having a picnic with the cows, the birds were very active singing their songs and the daffodils are all over in full bloom. The winter walks were nice this year, and seeing the cows out in the fields today, we had to make a detour, not taking any chances. We just want to say to all the cache owners, T4TC.

Had this trip planned since taking up caching in January this year, but was waiting for better weather. Had a good start to the day and found this one easily.

Have now beaten our highest find in a day and added another one.

Another easy find thanks, although the logonly has one space left. Sorry we didn't have one with us.

Oh yes, I liked this one. Almost missed it - with the spring growth it was hard to get close enough to look at nooks at crannies without getting scratched etc and then I spotted it on my careful retreat.

One of the few caches I'd (Gr) done solo. So Gilly pleased to visit. Lovely sizeable cache, well stocked, hidden and camo'd. Took TB left TBs (had to leave the duck TB) . Thanks again.

Found Wandering 1 TB but no sign of Winnie the Pooh Roo and firefly Cachekinz (suspect it may be in RR27)

Although we missed one of the bonus clues, using a bit of logic and the remaining numbers and clue we tracked this down. Thank you for the series, we had a very enjoyable day out with our highest daily cache count so far. A fairly leisurely pace took us about 4.5 hours and our activity app logged 8.61miles.

A quaint little churchyard that was sparkling in the sunshine today. Some very devious little clues but we werent fooled and soon had them all within our sights. Worked out the where the final was to be and soon the cache was found. TFTC

We couldnt not do this cache today as this would be our first chirp Cache. We pulled up and said our hellos to Mrs Schoolfrenz who was busy in the garden. We switched the chirp on and the reading was ours, this was very exciting, its always nice to have a few new ideas to try. We were soon on our way to GZ and pleased to find the cache. Brilliant. TFTC

Decided to have a nice relaxing caching day and cross off a few that have been on our todo list for a while. Although we solved this one a few weeks ago, it was no easy task getting the co-ords. In fact just starting this one was a mission in itself but after much trial and error we soon realised what we had to do and with some twists and turns along the way, we finally managed to get the co-ords. A lovely sunny walk this morning and pleased to see the cache was soon in hand. TFTC and another great puzzle.Left GC to hopefully to encourage others to come and find.

Another that we really should found before now, we never bothered with the Geochecker with the leg ability caches as after last summer we really should know where they are. Slapped wrists for just not coming to find them sooner. The JCB was working near the parking area so we parked a little up the lane and had a nice walk in the delightful sunshine. Its lovely that its so warm. Cache was well hidden but soon in hand. TFTC and now onto 2

After one we walked over to this cache, lovely to see the blossom in the hedgerows and the birds busy making their nests, spring is finally upon us! Cache was soon in hand and we are pleased to finally have found them. TFTC

Glorious afternoon and being in need of some fresh air and exercise with the little one decided to accompany Schoolfrenz on a pre-publication cache check of the series. Swift find. As wonderful as it was to be the first to sign the empty log sheet I couldnt log it as FTF as the cache wasn't yet published and sp signed at the bottom of the sheet. This is one cache that should be safe from muggles! TFTC

This was promising to be a great route. Jess was showing signs of vague interest in finding the caches and all was right with the world. TFTC

What could be better than finding yourself on a superb circular walk on a spring day in the best of company? Can see this series is going to be a favourite. TFTC

It can be a little nerve racking searching for caches in the company of the setter in case you look a dimwit DNFing. Happilythough the route/footpath for this series is clear and the caches so placed that Kitties could confidently lay their paws on them! TFTC

Naughty farmer hadn't marked a path through the crops so we followed a tractor trail across the field. Ground has dried up in the glorious weather so no mud issues. Weather, route and company still up to spec! TFTC

Just seen PeCeH log re Helen power walking! If you had been with my daughter on this stretch you would have thought you were power walking - any slower and we would have been going backwards! Cache nicely hidden whilst being easily findable. TFTC

Another good hide. Little one had slowed down and was showing severe signs of electronics withdrawal symptoms. Schoolfrenz, who we had joined on a pre-publication tour, was kinder than Mum and offered the option of return to start/car/electronics or continue on with the most excellent series on a glorious spring day. Right answer given TFTC

Until I started caching I had no idea there were so many equinophobes around! Being somewhat fond of horses I was disappointed they didn't come over and say hello to us. Cache quickly found. TFTC

Last one quickly in our paws bringing us to the end of a superb series. Series long enough to make a decent walk but short enough that even a cranky almost-a-teenager in non-caching mode couldn't complain! Footpaths took us through some very pretty scenery making it a favourite series for us. Well planned and thoroughly recommended. TFTC

Another 1st for us today so we couldnt pass this one by either, we downloaded the required information to the GPS and it was brilliant, really straightforward and alot less confusing than we thought this maybe. This must have taken a lot of effort and time to set up so thank you it was a really nice one for our first where to go and we had a wonderful sun filled stroll around the village (one of our favourite villages) TFTC brilliant!!

Difficulty reduced to 3 now the puzzle hint is more helpful.

We were going to attempt this one yesterday but once we had got all the inscriptions we knew it wasn't going to be a quick answer so we took some pics and worked it out at home. Came back tonight to find having sorted the numbers last night. However unfortunately after an extensive 30 minute search at GZ we drew a blank. It was getting dark by the time we called it a day. We'll keep an eye on this one and hopefully we were having a bad day!

took several attemps to get a chirp to chrip but once it did we were away
arrived at GZ n our 1st guess was wrong but 2nd guess had the cache in hand

Having only seen one other chirp, I was quite surprise with this one, as I was with the other, at how close I had to get to receive data. Presumably, in this case, it's delberate and the transmission distance is adjustable? Interesting stuff! Will have to have a play with one of these, once they're 'cheep'.

Quite impressed with the data download. Quickly done and quickly off to the cache.

Went to the obvious place first, ignoring the co-ords (doh!), then looked at the arrow and soon had the cache in hand.

I was always a bit sceptical of chirps (being a bit of a twerp!), almost writing them off as an expensive gimmick, but I really enjoyed this. I look forward to finding some more.

On a weekend away was suprised to see new caches on this route. Quick investigation this morning, bright sunshine and a convenient gap between jobs was all too tempting. Really helped that it is only 50 something days since we last walked this so old hides were easy to remember.
