I was a little hesitant at starting this as I'd already been up and caching since 6am. On the face of it, it looked a rather complicated cache, but in reality it was a set of "ronseal" caches - you read the instructions and it takes you to all the places you were supposed to go.
All in all you end up with a superb little walk with some caches thrown in for good measure.

I was a little confused by this cache being located differently to nos 2 & 3 but given the fork in the path at least it pointed you in the right direction.
Please beware you need to make a detour round the field margin to get to cache 1 as the farmer has just ploughed over the entire field.

Nearly missed this entirely as the farmer had ploughed the footpath to look like a normal field....
And when we got there, McWomble had beaten us to it....

I was a little confused by the clue and investigated said area to no avail. Decided to stick with the GPS and I ended up straight where I was supposed to be. Again just follow the cache rules and try not to anticipate.

By this time I was in the swing of just following the paths so I'm a little perplexed to see how I ended up on a path not on my map.
Arrived at the GZ and spent what seemed like forever trying to find the cache. I checked everywhere and got very mucky in the process. I started thinking tangentially, with regard to the clue and got severely scratched, nettled and brambled for my pains. I even tried "now where would I hide it" and that just pointed me back to where I'd already searched.

I swear that this cache was in another dimension as I found it where I could have sworn I'd already searched at least three times before.

Tired but happy I went back to the car at around with 1315 - 7.5 hours of caching and 14 FTFs under my belt!

This one seemed much easier than the other two and we managed to avoid the problems with the local greenery experienced by McWomble, although I suspect he didn't have to put up with the complaints of two young cachers who had been walking for miles

We made a right hash of this one!! We totally missed the footpath due to the ploughed field - he he... Soon realised our mistake after walking about 500 metres further than we should have done and we walked around the edge of the field instead. Lots of bees and wasps and then we realised that there was a huge wasp nests, hundreds of wasps! Poor Holly got her nose bitten. Finally got to the cache. Hoorah!! TNLN

After a couple of minutes searching we finally found this one. Got a little muddy trying to retrieve this one. Note book is a little damp already but I am sure that was only due to recent rain and it will dry out over the next couple of days. Thanks for a great series. We then went back to the Bell and had a lunch stop, really friendly people and nice food at reasonable prices. They were having an Easter Cake competition, it was so lovely - community spirit, thats what its all about!!
TFTC - Thanks for the series.

Myself and Angelbex decided to do this series....after a morning's gardening. Very tiring (the walk) but I do like series which start and finish at a pub!

The ploughed field isn't so bad; the farmer has driven his tractor along the route of the footpath so it's quite easily passable. You need a bit of care at the start, though!

No TB in the cache so someone hasn't logged it as taken.

I have really enjoyed this series. The walk is excellent and the series is brilliantly laid out.
Found this one after a little juggling with the numbers.
I think there is a slight error in the details for cache 3. The co-ords should be 0 43.(c+m)(i+n)(h+o-e) not 0 45.(c+m)(i+n)(h+o-e)
I will email the owner about this.

We decided to do this series to give Eddie the dog a long walk. In actual fact, unless your dog is very good off the lead it's not really the best as you spend some time on public roads....besides being near sheep! Perhaps next time I'll look more closely at the cache attributes!

Hadn't solved the anagrams beforehand and this cache seemed to be in an obvious spot....but wasn't. A quick bit of "anagramming" and the cache was obvious.

Solved the Rally Round puzzles some time back. Today we had a chance to go find them. We also took the 'road less well travelled' which possibly hadn't been travelled since Mr McW last traversed it. Fortunately today it was dry. Unfortunately, despite a long and thorough search at GZ, there was no sign of the cache. We were confident that we had the right coordinates and had solved the anagrammed clue - though there are now two of the 'clues' at GZ!! Having seen the caches at RR5 and RR6 we assume RR7 was a similar conatiner. If so, we fear it may have gone.

We decided it was about time that we tried to crack the Rallyround series so we decided to start with one and go on from there so this was the only one we undertook tonight just to make sure we were on the right track. We parked at the said co-ordinates, gained the relevant information needed and off we went and a very pleasant stroll it was too, in a nice shaded area and it was very much welcome this evening. We found the cache site and the cache was located easily. Yipppeee we are now working on the rest of the rally around series and shall be back in the next few days to complete some more. All sorts of problems with this one. We sought assistance to get us going. Then we need more assistance as we couldn't relate the code to the map. The code was amended and we got further but it required a leap of faith and a major about turn to get us to the final point on the map. We had this position confirmed by Schoolfrenz. This morning we pitched up at this point but could we find the path. We abandoned the search and set off for others in the series.

We met Schoolfrenz later on and he provided details of the exact position of the path. Of course when we returned we spotted the sign immediately. Made the necessary corrections and replotted and then set off to gz. The hint was of little help as there are a number of objects that ft the description. After a short search the cache was located.

This cache marked the completion of all of Skoolfrenz's puzzle caches published to date. Many thanks for a fine days caching.

What a hash we made of this one. We had to seek assistance from Schoolfenz to get us on our way. Eventually we got it but each of us had a different finish point. We thought we had cracked this very quickly and then realised when a couple of the answers gave way off co-ordinates. Started afresh and systematically worked out the code sequence. Another puzzle that MrP tackled as he said that it was juts the sort of code that he could deal with. There are sufficient clues on the cache page to aid the solver.

Not a obvious safe parking spot close to the cache. However as it is a saturday we chose an empty office car park. A shortish walk along to gz. Getting close to gz spotted a couple of possible places and, when much closer, the number of metres left to go shown on the gpsr discounted one of the possibilities. Arrived at gz, had a feel and there was the little thing.
...RR008GL2MT8X3RR008 - Playing FieldsFound itWe do checks and cache
Good little low-click puzzle. A nice variation to get numbers for co-ordinates.

Had a little difficulay in locating a suitable place to park to collect the cache. Though we had got close put found an inpenetrable hedge in our way. So a longer walk than expected, but with the weather splendid this this didn't pose a problem. Gtting close to gz we had a route choice, which we discovered when we reached the cache was the wrong (longer) one. A fine hide, if a tad difficult to access. MrP surprised a dog walking muggle when he appeared back at the path.

Finally, after several previously aborted caching missions, our first cache in Essex. In the area primarily to locate puzzle caches. This task was right up MrP's street and he solved it pretty quickly.

Located a parking spot a short distance from the trailhead that runs to the cache site. A nice walk on a spledid summer's day. Arrived at gz and MrP went straight in found nothing but got a few scratches. He then repositioned for an approach from the other direction and had just negotiated getting past a brach and avoided a large bee when MrsP said 'I can see it'. MrP extracted himeslef to do the retrieved.

MrP solved this one in tandem with RR9. A bit more to this one though. Arrived at th eparking and found a place to park. ...RR246GL2MTAA8RR246 - The Nearest FarAway PlaceFound itWe do checks and cache
Monitoring, as we do, puzzles as they are published this trilog appeared and one lunchtime MrP set about solving them. After a short while making no progress the penny dropped and he was off and running.

We arrived at a parking spot and set off to find the cache. The cacophony near by and the fact that the gpsr was pointing into a featureless field suggestion a major miscalculation. Then, we read the cache page and realised our error. Shortly afterwards we arrived at the correct and suggested parking. Got the necessary additional detail and replotted and then set off. The selected path was , a path but not particularly distinct and, in places, pretty hard going. At gz a quick find although MrP did manage to get a bang to the head. Left TB

At gz we saw a better defined path and decided to take this one back to the car. After about 100m the path disappeared and ahead it was just peas. However there is path mapped but obviously the land owner has not maintained it. Eagle eyed MrsP spotted a route through which suggested that previous cachers had taken this route back. Although not the best way to navigate back it did seem fitting as we have recently released a cache called 'Give Peas A Chance'
...RR247GL2MTB5FRR247 - PanglossianFound itWe do checks and cache
Picked up on what was needed a little quicker than the others in this triology. After the exploits at Nearest Far Away... MrsP decided to forgo the walk. In contrast to that cache this one was a breeze. Clearly defined well-maintained paths all the way. Arrived a gz and started a search in a particular about the obvious object. Nothing. Moved to anothed nearby object which was less promising and so no suprrise when nothing found. Returned to first location and stared at the place MrP thought the cache ought to be. Then shifting his gaze he spotted the cache hanging in plain view. Signed log and replaced the cache in the place that MrP thought most fits the hint.

Yet another great little puzzle that had mean reaching for the spreadsheet at work.
I wish I'd printed the cache description off as it would have saved a few scratches approaching the cache - I came through the "obvious" gap in the hedge which is not quite right.
This one had me stumped to the point of almost giving up but as the evening sun came out from behind the cloud, light literally dawned and the cache was spotted.
Retrieving it proved a little problematic and the thing it was hiding behind came off in my hand (sorry Schoolfrenz) - so it's about 6 inches to the right of where you hid it!

For me this was by far the hardest of Schoolfrenz puzzle caches and worth every one of the 4.5 stars of difficulty.
I tried solving in the field last night but kept missing the connection, the realisation of which leapt out at me on the way into work.
So one lunch hour later and several sneaky glances when I was supposed to be working during the afternoon and I had the solution. Having worked for this one it seemed only fitting I should save this for my 900th.
After the hard work in the solution the cache was a relatively easy find, certainly not what I was expecting and the FTF was a pleasant surprise.

And so back to Little Totham church for the walk to cache number 2, definitely a hurried walk since there were very dark clouds on the horizon heading my way.
Spent a while looking in the wrong place for this one, having discounted the eventual cache hide at first glance due to a mis-remembered anagram clue.
After 10 mins of searching I returned and there it was! Quickly signed and got back to the car just as the rains started.
Within a couple of minutes it was coming down "in stair-rods" as my Gran used to say.

Having picked up the hydrant clues from the car in the rain, a mis-slip of fingers entering the coordinates found me in Little Totham churchyard looking for a non-existant telegraph pole.
Such is the felicitous nature of chance that the choir having ceased finished practising were enjoying a post rehearsal class of wine in the vestry and noticed my arrival.
Apparently there was a cry of "Ooh there's a strange man in the churchyard" and one of their number was sent out to challenge and assist!
Having been duly challenged I was invited in for some "pop" and a guided tour of the church from the local historian. The tour, included "the oldest door in a church in Essex" (c. 900 yo) and having mentioned I was a bellringer, the tour was immediately extended to the tower and the bells!
A nice little surprise awaited, three bells hung for full circle ringing all with canons, two dating from 1450 and the 3rd more modern at 1653.
Having made my excuses, I soon spotted my typo and was off for the elusive telegraph pole and the coords for nos 2 & 3.

A nice little walk in between the rain showers and a first glance an out in the open cache hide, but on further reflection it is rather well hidden and a nonedescript location.
Took the time to rethread the drawstring on the bag and generally enjoy the lull between the rain showers.
Thanks for bringing me here, indirectly enabling me to grab another church tower and thanks for the cache!

At last the bonus after a very long tiring walk. Confused over the two B numbers used which we recorded as separate numbers. Final GPS was 92m out but we found it on the route anyway. Great end to a fantastic walk. All in all it took me just under 3 hours from start to finish and that was allowing for a few stops to admire the views and take some pictures.
I too had two different numbers for B. I logged both sets of co-ords into the GPS and as they were quite close I wasn't too bothered and thought I'd just try one first then the other. Found the cache at the first location and it looks like Schoolfrenz has corrected the listing now!
This has been a truly stunning walk that I have thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for taking the time to set these out and for bringing me to this amazing place.

Found despite geochecker and cache owner claimimg my answer to the puzzle was incorrect. The whole point of geochecher is to confirm you have the right co-ords before you leave home. Another easy puzzle, but approached from the water tower end. Friend of farmer warned us off of the footpath and told us to take the other side of the field along the hedgerow. He thought he owned the field, miserable old git. The farmer has not maintanied the footpath through his crop. Farmers friend said footpath signs should not be there anymore, but seeing they were still there he had no right to go shouting about not going that way. I look forward to SchoolFrenz puzzle caches, and had them all solved within a few hours. After an off chance comment, I decided to wait and let the rest of you have first crack at the FTFs.

It was such a lovely day so I set off camera in hand, little knowing it was a bad move since stopping to capture the views must have added at least another hour or so to the walk.
Just as I was about 100 yards off the GZ along zipped a pair of cyclists and plopped themselves down right on top of the cache!! After what seemed like half an hour but was probably only half that they moved on so it was time to find the cache. Finding the first in the series always seems to be the trickiest because you're never quite sure what type of container you're looking for. Such was the case this time, but found eventually. TFTC

I spoke too soon, a thundering of kids followed by two exasperated mums in between 4 & 5. Really interesting to see where the old trainline used to run having read up on the history following other Tollesbury caches. Took lots of photos too. On approaching the cache site, it seemed to be being guarded by a swan! We both eyed each other with mutual distrust before the swan wandered off and took to the "canal" behind the sea wall!

To claim or not to claim that is the question? After all the man with the JCB from Balfour Beatty discovered the first iteration of this cache. In doing so I did learn something shocking about Great Totham! Definitely FTF in this current location.
Definitely my favourite puzzle of the latest batch but then I'm accustomed to thinking along these lines!
If you're approaching this cache from the North watch out at the intermediate hedgerow you're right by the 10th tee. It would seem that some of the golfers put up with walkers under strict duress. Having emerged from the treeline, I got a very snippy order from the nearest one, telling me exactly where I needed to head towards and exactly which way I should be going. Very tempted to grind my heels across the approach to the green but I desisted!
Well at least that's one more public right of way walked on this year!

Well, Here's my story. Firstly what a wonderful walk around the TWSW Trail+detours on a wonderful day. Did just over nine miles in total in bright, but windy conditions. So thank you to Schoolfrenz. I will thank you personally at the Hanningfield TT. I liked that the bonus is not disrupted if a cache goes AWOL, as the answers are big & bold and outside the caches.
As I left Marsh View it began to rain. I looked at 'The Tank' on the way past but it needs serious CITO help. Plodded on to get the bonus with two possible locations in my GPS. Did I see correctly? Is there a B in the 'Between 4 & 5' clue and in the 'Near 5' clue?. And they are different. I convinced myself that the B in the 7A54B6 was the correct one. Got myself sliding under an electric fence in the wet to get to the gate my GPS pointed at: No joy. The footpath route to Cache 1 at waypoint 08/TB8 is still undefined across a cultivated field. The situation has been reported to the Essex County Council Highways Department three times now but there has been no change. Either trek through the field or use the field margin to the north. Take care - both are uneven surfaces.

Gathered the required information on the way to the cache, and began the hunt it. Spent a little time looking around and then I spotted it. It was completely exposed and the bag was open. Fearing the worst, I retrieved the cache from the bag and I was quite relieved to find everything intact. Not sure what had occured, but I hid it where I thought it should be and made sure it was well covered.

Thanks for a really splendid walk, made all the better by the lovely weather. The only downside was the fact that I was financially embarrassed (due to not visiting a cash point on the way), so I couldn't nip into the Swan for a well deserved pint! Nevermind, there's always another time!

I completed this cache on a visit with Clan Cobbler. However we did not log it in the logbook on that day because Senior Cobbler had already completed the cache on his own and had logged it himself without the rest of the old cobblers being present.
Therefore as part of Clan Cobbler at the time we could not log it in the book for the second time and so there is no log in the book for this date.

Im sorry we only found 8 of the 11 but we had such a thoroughly enjoyable walk the DNF's really didnt matter as its means we have an excuse to come back! Thanks for a great series!! I'm so bad with mysteries then when I solve one I get all excited. It was the case here (obviously). Actually I know the area pretty well, but still took a wrong road, end up on the top of a hill, facing a private property, no way I could reverse without trespassing. Well... then we noticed we knew that property. It used to belong to friends of us and one day, while visiting I fell in that swimming-pool... it was Winter and I was handling my fancy Nikon, which survived the incident (gosh I'm fast reacting). Anyway... the property was empty and we did enter to turn around. Then it was a straight drive to the cache. Easy one, spotted before getting there. We use to live not so far, and we would take that road to visit the nearby hill, Cerro de São Miguel. Good old times. Pity I forgot to bring some TB's I took from Malta last week.

Having had a long lie in (see Britvic Clock cache), I discovered the latest SchoolFrenz caches were out. Spent a while solving Rally Round 22 (eventually) so set off fully expecting to bump into someone else doing the first 4 of the this series.
Spent ages trying to find somewhere to park, I'm not convinced that SchoolFrenz's suggestion is safe and/or that legal - it is a *very* busy road. I parked in the village and walked up.
I was therefore rather flabbergasted to find an empty logbook. Where was everyone on Sunday.
Thanks again for another great series Ray, a great little romp around the paths and especially the tree tunnels.

Eeeny-meany-miney-mo. Number 4 came up first so off we go. A very pleasant walk it was too and it was then that inspiration hit for the solution to no.6 (Rally Round 23). Thankfully the cache was before the field of horses - mcwombles and horses don't quite mix! A cunning little hide and not what I was expecting.

This one was a bit of a challenge the initial solution didn't seem to fit. So checked again, spotted the mistake and still the geochecker said "no". Checked, checked and checked again and eventually sent a message to SchoolFrenz. The cache typo was soon fixed and geochecker said "yes!"
Out in the field I was enjoying the walk so much I realised I'd walked past it by quite some way. Retracked and I soon spotted a tell-tale and the cache was found and again an empty logbook.

Inspiration for the solution to this one struck on the walk to Polycache 4 and tentative mental arithmetic indicated I was on the right track. So notebook in hand and trying to avoid rabbit holes I was frantically doing the maths. But the coords were in the middle of the field. Rechecked and a better fit - a lengthy search but couldn't find and no obvious location that fit the clue.
Rechecked and another set of coordinates. Another reasonable search and nothing.
Retired to a quiet spot, by a field of alpaca's and re did the maths from scratch - note to self improve the mental maths and don't guess next time.
The 3rd search had been in the right area but about 20 feet out.
The cache was exceedingly well hidden and very naturally camouflaged - most definitely the best camouflaged cache of the weekend and the mcwomble gold star of approval.
I think I did it equal justice in rehiding it again but it's always the case of having seen something you can't help but notice it again.
Thanks SchoolFrenz for a very frustrating puzzle cache, entirely of my own making.
Thanks again for a great little series - something for everyone.

Glorioso fim de semana prolongado no Algarve, com uma temperatura amena a rondar os 25º C, aproveitado também para um pouco de Geocaching super-relaxado. Esta seria a segunda cache encontrada.

I'd decided that it was about time we did some of the caches out this way so this set of three seemed the perfect start.

This was the first of the three we did and we found the spot without any problem. The farmer was, however, farming his field and approached us with his young daughter obviously assuming, as we were hovering around this point, that we had lost our way. When we told him what we were doing Angelbex said to the daughter "can you help us find it" and within about five seconds she had though it was totally in the open. The cache had a 50p in it which we gave to the daughter (as we had no change on us); she seemed very pleased!

Not sure where the precise location of the cache should be as it didn't quite fit the hint....assuming of course I deciphered it correctly! But replaced it in the most obvious place.

We decided to drive to the start of the final footpath from the original starting point as we were both getting rather tired by this time.

I had only deciphered the first part of the hint anagram before we left, assuming that once we got there all would become obvious. But when we did get there we could make no sense of anything; there was an area which might be suitable for a cache but the co-ords weren't quite there and it somehow didn't seem right. After a quick check of our calculations we quickly discovered our error and realised that we'd walked right past it! So, after a quick turn around we soon found the cache and then, of course, the anagram was obvious.....quite how we hadn't worked it out I don't know!

A nice series and now we'll do some of the rest!

The rain was starting to set in again however this was obviously not deterring the clay pigeon shoot as there were still lots of bangs overhead. Followed the very familiar footpath (remember this one very well) and eventually arriving at GZ, which was to be a nice quick find. TFTC SL@11.30am Now back to the car, we checked on cache 2 for you as we went past and all is well and in good order.

Yowser, 7.5 miles! So I got out the Technobike II, and set off. That went very well; the first 2 km wsa on a very good road, and the going after that was still pretty good.

A quick find. TFTC

A previous DNF, a *very* specific hint, and I couldn't find the cache either. And this will be the worst one for the cache owner to replace, being a long way around the route. So I replaced it with a 35 mm that I carry; the hint is still pertinent.

The final for this ring. It's a longer ring than I usually do, but that was compensated by doing it on the Technobike II; I went round in about three hours (including doing three caches along the way). The views were great, and I met hardly anyone along the way; very wild and windswept. TFTC

It was easy to get to this small sanctuary and find the final GZ.
We haven't seen Steve and Angie, maybe one day we find them near the site, who knows!?

Clearing up the Tollesbury Caches that were muggled on our previous visit, nice easy find this time. Just as we replaced cache there was a loud thud and the pumping station kicked in and woosh lots of water came flowing out into the estuary. Having another smashing walk along the wall. TFTC

Having collected the turkey and everything all prepared we decided that the doggies needed a good walk and what better walk than to finish off the Caches that had been muggled last time we did this walk, however we talk a really mish mash route and went 3, 2 and then 8.... It was certainly brisk today out on the sea wall and so much colder than inland. This time this was a nice easy find. TFTC.

A funny thing happened on the journey to the church - a particular tree caught my interest and lo and behold there was a cache hidden in it! Signed the log and then went looking for the clues - found all bar one. An odd but effective way of caching.

Excellent cache - took a while to work out the puzzle anagram but once done applied it to the co-ords and got right result. Took some time, but well worth the effort.

Well thought out cache - thanks :-)
